Tuchel: 'It's Icardi's moment'

PSG coach Thomas Tuchel ‘trusts’ Neymar will deliver in ‘the big matches’ but has stressed the importance of a good performance from former Inter forward Mauro Icardi on Wednesday.

Paris Saint-Germain will face Atalanta in the quarter-finals but will have Kylian Mbappe on the bench, as he is still recovering from an ankle injury, and lost former Napoli man Edinson Cavani when his deal expired earlier this summer.

Tuchel: 'Atalanta advantage over PSG'

Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel admits Atalanta ‘have an advantage and that is their pace’ after needing penalties to break down Lyon in the Coupe de la Ligue Final.

This was only their second competitive match since the lockdown in early March, after a 1-0 win over 10-man Saint-Etienne last week, and another sluggish performance.

If Atalanta had been watching this game, they would have seen little to be worried about going into the Champions League quarter-final on August 12.

Marotta: 'Waiting for Barcelona'

Inter director Beppe Marotta is ‘waiting to see what Barcelona do’ about the Lautaro Martinez clause, is vague on Sandro Tonali and Radja Nainggolan, while ‘everyone is happy’ with Mauro Icardi’s move.

The Nerazzurri chief sat down for an interview with Sky Sport Italia, covering various big transfer stories of the summer.

“We want to reinforce the squad and, like all big clubs, don’t tend to sell their stars,” said Marotta when asked about Lautaro Martinez and the €111m release clause.

Bergomi: 'PSG don't have Inter prestige'

Beppe Bergomi believes Mauro Icardi’s move to Paris Saint-Germain is good for all concerned. ‘This club doesn’t have the prestige of Inter, but it can win.’
