Atleti: 'Icardi a great player'

Atletico Madrid director Caminero admits they “know Mauro Icardi, a great player,” but won’t be drawn on the Inter striker’s future.

There have already been multiple reports over the summer and in January that Atleti were interested in signing Icardi.

He is known to have a big admirer in the Colchoneros Coach Diego Simeone.

“We are pleased that great players are accosted to our club,” Atletico Madrid director of sport Caminero told Mediaset Premium in Italy.

Icardi out for Roma

Inter's Mauro Icardi is due for an MRI today but looks likely to skip the game against Roma.

The Nerazzurri have an intimidating match ahead on Saturday evening as they come against the growing tide of the Giallorossi, and to make matters worst their attack is in poor shape.

Icardi in particular is having trouble in his right knee. While tweeting that it was nothing serious on Saturday night, he will undergo an MRI today that will reveal the extent of his injury.

Icardi out for a month?

Inter await test results as Mauro Icardi could be out for a month and Rodrigo Palacio is suspended against Roma.

The Nerazzurri beat Bologna 2-1 last night to temporarily climb into fourth place, but there was a heavy price to pay.

Icardi limped off after just 10 minutes with a sprained right knee, as his leg got caught under him when sliding in to meet a cross.

Inter need more for third

Inter have their best home run since May 2012, but George Rinaldi says they must be more clinical for third place.

It had looked as though Inter were going to be facing an uphill battle on Saturday evening. Mauro Icardi, their talismanic forward, was made to withdraw with a knee injury, leaving Roberto Mancini's men with Eder as their sole striker.

It wouldn't matter though, thanks to late goals from Ivan Perisic and Danilo D'Ambrosio that allowed them to march on toward a possible third place finish.

Icardi has sprained knee

Mauro Icardi will require tests for ligament damage after the Inter striker sprained his right knee.

The forward limped off just 10 minutes into this evening’s Serie A match against Bologna at San Siro.

Inter released a statement confirming he had twisted his right knee and the injury would be evaluated over the next few days.

There are concerns for the collateral ligament.

Even if there is no ligament damage, a sprain makes it highly unlikely Icardi will be ready to face Roma in next week’s showdown for third place.

'Errors normal for young Inter'

Coach Roberto Mancini claims Inter have 'many young players', so 'errors are normal' ahead of Bologna.

The Nerazzurri play the Felsinei this Saturday at 19:45, and face a team that experienced a rebirth ever since appointing Coach Roberto Donadoni in October.

“I'm a Bologna fan, they deserve to return to the top,” Mancini told the Press. “Donadoni is doing extremely well. He's a great Coach and tomorrow they could give us trouble.

Inter: 'Third or not, Mancini stays'

Piero Ausilio says that Coach Roberto Mancini will stay with Inter 'regardless of whether he comes third' in the standings or not.

The Nerazzurri suffered a frightful decline in form in the second half of the season, and European qualification appears to be compromised yet again.

Even so, the club's sporting director confirmed that they have no intention of replacing Mancini.

Icardi, Brozovic futures unclear

Reports say Mauro Icardi and Marcelo Brozovic’s Inter futures are in doubt despite contract talks with the Croatian.

Corriere dello Sport has reported today that doubts remain inside the Nerazzurri about captain Icardi, as Coach Roberto Mancini has a love-hate relationship with him and wants the striker to work harder.

The newspaper writes that if Inter fail to qualify for the Champions League Icardi could be sacrificed, in light of interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.

Icardi: 'Have faith in Inter'

Mauro Icardi said Inter “deserve faith” after their 3-1 victory over Palermo and have not been reborn.

The Nerazzurri climbed to within two points of Fiorentina in fourth place and five of Roma in third.

“We put in a great performance, now we have to focus on the next game, because Roma are still far away,” the striker told Mediaset Premium and Sky Sport Italia.

Have Inter been reborn since their midweek Coppa Italia 3-0 win over Juventus?
