City ready €40m Icardi bid?

Reports say Manchester City are ready to pay €40m for Inter captain Mauro Icardi in the summer.

Gazzetta dello Sport writes today that the Citizens are willing to make the Argentine striker one of their major summer buys.

Arsenal and Chelsea have also been linked with the 22-year-old, but the newspaper believes City have the financial firepower and tactical requirement to sign him.

Report: Icardi mugged in Milan

Inter striker Mauro Icardi was reportedly mugged in Milan last night.

The 22-year-old Argentine was parking his car after the 1-0 Serie A victory over Genoa.

He was approached by two men who ordered him to hand over his belongings and cash.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, they got away with an expensive Hublot watch and some jewellery before escaping on the back of a moped.

Mancini: 'Inter bigger than Icardi'

Roberto Mancini defended his tactical decisions after Inter beat Genoa 1-0. “I am Coach of Inter, not of Mauro Icardi.”

Adem Ljajic got the decisive goal with a free kick that whipped past everyone at San Siro.

“It was important for us to win after the Napoli game and it wasn’t easy this evening,” Mancini told Mediaset Premium and Sky Sport Italia.

Zanetti: 'Inter turning point'

Inter director Javier Zanetti believes the Napoli defeat was a positive “turning point” and Mauro Icardi should be dropped against Genoa.

Mancini: ‘No problem with Icardi’

Inter Coach Roberto Mancini insists there’s no problem with Mauro Icardi - “he’ll score the goals which will help us”.

The striker was Serie A top scorer last season, but has just four goals in 12 games so far this season, and played only 45 minutes during Monday’s defeat to Napoli.

“The game in Naples was difficult,” Mancini explained in his Press conference ahead of the Genoa match.

Zanetti: ‘Inter can win Scudetto’

Javier Zanetti believes the most “consistent” team will win the Scudetto - “I hope that team will be Inter”.

The Nerazzurri trail leaders Napoli by a point after defeat at San Paolo on Monday night, but the vice-President still sees them in the title fight.

“Our awareness is growing game by game,” Zanetti explained to Sky.

“[Coach Roberto] Mancini is doing a great job. It’s a balance League, and whoever wins it will be whoever is able to be consistent. I hope that team will be Inter.

Zanetti: ‘Inter must fight to the end’

Vice-President Javier Zanetti tells Inter to “fight to the end” and “we’ll see what the table says at the end of the season”.

The Nerazzurri are currently a point off the top of Serie A, having lost to Napoli at San Paolo on Monday night.

“The important thing for us is to fight to the end,” Zanetti told assembled media at Piazzale Angelo Moratti.

“If we continue to show the positive things we did at Napoli then we won’t lose many. We’ll see what the table says at the end of the season.

Icardi: ‘Scudetto decided in May’

Inter captain Mauro Icardi says the Scudetto “won’t be decided against Napoli”, and will go down to the wire.

The Nerazzurri take on Maurizio Sarri’s side in the big Monday night fixture, and go into the clash two points clear of the Partenopei at the top of Serie A.

“The Scudetto? It won’t be decided against Napoli,” Icardi told Mediaset.

“It’ll be decided in May when the season ends.”
