Inter eye Benzema bid

Inter consider Karim Benzema their prime target if Mauro Icardi is sold this summer, claims the Corriere dello Sport.

According to today’s edition of the Italian paper, Real Madrid centre-forward Benzema is the kind of big-name player President Erick Thohir thinks can help raise the profile at San Siro.

The 28-year-old is expected to leave Real Madrid this summer, as he is struggling with a series of off the field legal problems.

Mancini: ‘Serie A has improved but…’

Roberto Mancini believes “Serie A has improved” but referees make it “difficult to have good football”.

The Inter Coach has spent time in the English Premier League, winning the title with Manchester City, and believes the officials are superior over there.

“I think Serie A has improved again in the last three four years, but it is not the same as in England or Germany or Spain,” Mancini explained to Reuters.

They have been bitterly critical of each other via social media and interviews.

According to the latest reports, the situation has gone to the courts with Nara’s lawyers successfully getting the authorities to confiscate Maxi Lopez’s passport.
