Milik part of Rodrigo bid?

Spanish paper Super Deporte claim Napoli offered Arkadiusz Milik as part of an exchange deal with Valencia, but Rodrigo refused the transfer.

Their interest in Rodrigo is not new and he’s seen as an alternative to Inter hitman Mauro Icardi.

According to Super Deporte online edition, the Partenopei tried to tempt Valencia into a swap with Poland international centre-forward Milik.

This in itself would be surprising, as Milik had until now been considered an unwavering figure in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

Inter begin Lukaku talks with Man Utd

Inter director Piero Ausilio is in England this evening for negotiations with Manchester United and striker Romelu Lukaku.

A trip to the UK was expected this week and Sky Sport Italia state it’s happening right now.

Antonio Conte has made it clear from day one that he considers Lukaku the ideal reinforcement at Inter, having already tried to purchase the Belgian at Chelsea.

Manchester United want €80m and have repeatedly turned down attempts to lower the price-tag by including players such as Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan.

Ancelotti 'hopeful' of James

Carlo Ancelotti says he is ‘hopeful’ Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez will become a Napoli player soon.

Napoli remain locked in negotiations for James, with the hold-up believed to be over whether he joins on a permanent basis or on loan.

“I don’t know if he’ll come, but we hope so,” Ancelotti told reporters from Dimaro.

“I know him very well, he can play in all the midfield positions. I used him as a left winger, as a No 10 and and even on the right.

Inter hard-line stance is risky

Football Italia Chief Correspondent Richard Hall appreciates Inter’s new hard-line disciplinary stance, but it could backfire on Antonio Conte.

Antonio Conte and Beppe Marotta were united, they were clear and what is more they delivered a message. Hard work and discipline were the most important values in this new regime, winning comes second. For the likes of Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan, there was no mincing of words, they were, in no uncertain terms, up for sale. This hard-line approach may seem radical, and it is, especially for Inter. There are reasons behind it, but is it a decision that could come back to haunt them?

Radja Nainggolan did not expect to be turfed out by Inter and is considering offers from Shanghai Shenhua and Dalian Yifang, it’s reported.

According to Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia, the Belgian thought he’d have an opportunity to convince new Coach Antonio Conte.

He was stunned when director of sport Beppe Marotta announced this weekend that he and Mauro Icardi were not part of Inter’s plans for this season.

'Ronaldo & Icardi can play together'

Luca Toni has a solution for Juventus if they wish to play Cristiano Ronaldo and Mauro Icardi together – a 4-3-1-2 with Aaron Ramsey behind them.

Juve have been linked with bringing in Icardi this summer, and Toni – a former Bianconeri striker himself – explained to Tuttosport how the Inter outcast could coexist with Ronaldo in an Old Lady XI.

“Ronaldo and Icardi are two finishers,” the 42-year-old told the newspaper.

“CR7 is a champion, while Mauro’s a great striker who still has to make that final step-up.

Napoli begin Icardi negotiations

Napoli have directly contacted Mauro Icardi and Wanda Nara to offer €7.5m per year plus bonuses to the Inter striker, claim Sky Sport Italia.

This would be slightly superior to the personal terms proposed by Juventus, reaching almost €10m per season with the add-ons.

The Partenopei are also more likely to pay the €60m asking price set by Inter and promise to make Maurito more of a central figure to their team project under Carlo Ancelotti.

Conte: 'Icardi and Radja decision made'

Antonio Conte confirms he did not exclude Radja Nainggolan and Mauro Icardi, as Inter had already made the decision. “All I did was back the club’s vision.”

The two players were told in no uncertain terms by director general Beppe Marotta this week that they are not in the Nerazzurri’s plans.

During today’s Press conference, Conte was asked why he had decided to go on without them, but revealed this pre-dated his arrival.
