Sassuolo without Berardi against Juve

Sassuolo attacker Domenico Berardi has suffered an injury to the right thigh and misses out on the match against Juventus on Sunday.

The forward was stopped by a muscle injury in the 2-1 win over Genoa during the week and the club confirmed the tests has revealed an injury to the flexors of his right thigh.

He will therefore miss out against Juventus on Sunday, when the Neroverdi kick off against the reigning champions at 19.45 UK time.

Consigli: 'It's nice to win this way'

Andrea Consigli’s heroics helped 10-men Sassuolo to a 1-0 win against Benevento and climb to second in Serie A. ‘It’s nice to win like this too’.

Sassuolo were up 1-0 after eight minutes, as Domenico Berardi smashed home a spot kick, but Lukas Haraslin was sent off after 49 minutes and the Neroverdi had to fight hard to hold onto their early lead.

Consigli made some great saves at the end of the match and helped Roberto De Zerbi’s men pick up three points and climb to second in the League on Friday night.

Domenico Berardi ‘could stay at Sassuolo for life,’ confirmed his agent after another impressive display for Italy. 'He is reaping the rewards of his decision.'

The 26-year-old has had many opportunities to leave the Mapei Stadium and always rejected them, most famously when Juventus had a buy-back option on him.

Video: Italy's record-breaking Poland goal

Domenico Berardi’s goal for Italy against Poland set a new record for most passes leading up to a goal in the Nations League.

Although RAI Sport initially counted 27 in the build-up, Opta and the official Italy Twitter feed held a recount and put the figure at 30.

This is the first ever Nations League goal to be scored with 30 consecutive passes from the same team before the ball hit the back of the net.

Italy won the match 2-0 to leapfrog Poland and become the new Nations League Group A leaders.

Paratici fined for disrespecting the referee

The Disciplinary Commission has fined Juventus director Fabio Paratici €15,000 for his conduct towards the referee in the match against Hellas Verona.

Among the decisions by the sports judge in Serie A, Paratici was fined ‘at the end of the first half, in the dressing room’.

The sporting director was fined €15,000 due to “threatening attitude and disrespectful criticism towards the referee.”

De Zerbi: 'Glad Sassuolo conceded like that'

Roberto De Zerbi remains utterly committed to the Sassuolo philosophy, and is even ‘happy we conceded when caught in possession.’

The Neroverdi fought back from 3-1 down to beat Bologna 4-3 at the Stadio Dall’Ara, but the coach had some intriguing comments after the match.
