Berardi to Juve on Wednesday?

Juventus should announce Domenico Berardi’s arrival from Sassuolo on Wednesday, including Rolando Mandragora and Gianluca Caprari.

The Bianconeri have long boasted an option to buy Berardi for €25m and seem ready to activate it next week.

According to Il Resto del Carlino newspaper, it won’t be a purely cash affair for Juventus.

They will also hand Sassuolo Under-21 international midfielder Mandragora and current Pescara striker Caprari.

‘Vazquez worth the same as Berardi’

Maurizio Zamparini has warned Roma that Franco Vazquez “is worth €25m” as the Palermo playmaker warrants the same price tag as Domenico Berardi.

Vazquez is expected to leave Palermo this summer after announcing his desire for a new challenge a fortnight ago, prompting speculation that Roma could replace Miralem Pjanic with the naturalised Italian.

Marotta confirms Evra renewal

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta confirms Patrice Evra’s renewal, but won’t be drawn on Dani Alves.

The Bianconeri have been linked with the Barcelona right-back, along with this teammate Javier Mascherano.

Echoing his sentiments yesterday, the transfer chief was non-commital, but did confirm a renewal for Evra.

“Dani Alves and Mascherano? I won’t confirm it and I won’t deny it,” Marotta told Il Mattino.

Berardi gets Azzurrini call

Domenico Berardi is in the Italy Under-21 squad to face France, but there’s no Gianluigi Donnarumma or Alessio Romagnoli.

Luigi Di Biagio’s Azzurrini take on France in a friendly on July 2, and Sassuolo forward Berardi is in the squad after missing out on the senior set-up.

However, Milan young-guns Donnarumma and Romagnoli are not included, and Juventus’ Daniele Rugani misses out as he’s in the 30-man preliminary senior squad for Euro 2016.

Agent: ‘Nothing done for Berardi’

Domenico Berardi’s agent insists “there’s nothing new” with Juventus, despite Beppe Marotta’s words.

Marotta said earlier today that Juventus are “going to complete” a deal to re-sign the forward from Sassuolo, as they have a buyback clause of €25m.

“Right now there’s nothing new about Domenico’s future,” Simone Seghedoni insisted in an interview with Road2Sport.

Marotta: 'Juve must stay young'

Juventus sporting director Beppe Marotta reveals his strategy is to keep 'a compact group' whilst lowering the average age.

The 59-year-old is cementing his reputation as one of Italy's most powerful directors after having been essential to the Bianconeri's dominance of Serie A for several years.

“If we're dominating now, it's precisely because we always did our best to keep a compact group,” he told Tuttosport. “Except for certain specific situations, and cases when it was inevitable.”
