Roma: Florenzi leaves Valencia

Roma-owned Alessandro Florenzi has announced his departure from Valencia, thanking the club for ‘making me feel at home’.

Florenzi joined Valencia on loan in January and put a bout of chickenpox and a red card behind him to play 12 times at Mestalla.

However, the 29-year-old confirmed earlier today that he would not be making his stay permanent.

In an Instagram post of himself looking out of an aeroplane window, he thanked Los Che for ‘making me feel at home’, amidst the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Agent: 'Florenzi had Inter offer'

Alessandro Florenzi’s agent reveals Inter made the full-back a ‘very significant’ offer but that he turned it down out of love for Roma.

Florenzi was expected to lead the post-Totti and De Rossi era at Roma with Lorenzo Pellegrini, especially after he signed a new contract in the summer of 2018.

According to Alessandro Lucci, he even gave up ‘a lot of money’ from Inter just to keep playing for his hometown club.

Report: Atalanta in Florenzi talks

Atalanta are reportedly in advanced talks with Roma outcast Alessandro Florenzi, who will return from a loan stint at Valencia this summer.

The former captain has struggled to convince Paulo Fonseca and left the Giallorossi in January. The 29-year-old has played nine La Liga matches since the move and seems set for a return to Serie A this summer.

But journalist Nicolò Schira claims he will not feature in Fonseca’s plans at the Olimpico and Atalanta are prepared to offer the Italy international an exit route from the capital.

Atalanta 'offer Muriel for Florenzi'

Atalanta are reportedly prepared to offer Luis Muriel in order to land Roma wingback Alessandro Florenzi.

Florenzi is currently on loan at Valencia, but Gazzetta dello Sport writes they are only prepared to extend his arrangement as opposed to sign him outright.

Therefore, writes the newspaper, Atalanta are ready to compete by proposing an exchange with Muriel heading the other way.

The Colombian arrived from Sevilla last summer and has scored 14 goals in 28 games this season.

Valencia 'extend Florenzi loan'

Valencia have reportedly agreed to extend Alessandro Florenzi’s loan from Roma until the end of the season.

Florenzi was initially contracted to Valencia until June 30 and a return to Roma looked increasingly on the cards.

However, Corriere della Sera writes a new agreement has been reached between the two clubs for him to see out the 2019-20 campaign at Mestalla, as per FIFA guidelines.

Florenzi won't remain at Valencia

Valencia are very unlikely to purchase Alessandro Florenzi outright from Roma for €12-15m, but the player insists he wouldn’t cut the experience short.

The full-back joined Valencia in January on a dry loan, so there is no agreed option to buy, meaning any full transfer would have to be negotiated.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Superdeporte, the asking price is €12-15m, considerably over the budget, not to mention his salary.

Florenzi: 'Only Manolas didn't believe with Barca'

Alessandro Florenzi reveals there was only one Roma player who didn’t believe they could complete the comeback with Barcelona – Kostas Manolas.

The full-back is currently on loan at Valencia, but admits he has no idea where he’ll be after June 30.

“I am at Valencia at the moment and it’s not clear yet whether FIFA will allow loans to be extended beyond then, because my contract expires in June and the season won’t end until at least July,” Florenzi told MotoGP champion Max Biaggi in an Instagram Live chat.

Alessandro Florenzi gives Roma coach Paulo Fonseca credit for “being very clear with me” ahead of his Valencia move, reveals he turned down Inter and the few dreams he has yet to make come true.

The Italy international joined Valencia on loan in January to get more playing time, as he clashed with coach Paulo Fonseca and did not want to risk losing his place in the Euro 2020 squad.

“I was very proud to wear the Roma armband, as I came after Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
