Redknapp: 'Spurs must have-a-go'

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp insists his side must have-a-go when they face Milan in the first leg of their Champions League second round match.

Spurs have already paid a visit to San Siro this season and where unlucky to lose 4-3 against Inter after mounting a second half comeback inspired by Gareth Bale.

"We are going to give it a right go," Redknapp said. "We have not got the players to come here and shut up shop - we are an attacking team and that is how I like it.

"I don't want to concede bags of goals like last time.

Van Der Vaart fit to face Milan

Tottenham midfielder Rafael Van Der Vaart has been passed fit to face Milan in the first leg of tonight's Champions League knock out tie.

The Holland international was absent from Spurs' 2-1 win against Sunderland on Saturday after picking up a calf strain.

It eases Harry Redknapp's injury worries ahead of Tottenham's second trip to San Siro this season, the first being a 4-3 defeat to Inter in the group stages.

Tottenham will be without Luka Modric and perhaps even more importantly star winger Gareth Bale.

Ancelotti advises Milan on Spurs

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has given old club Milan advice on dealing with Tottenham. “They're tough, but have a poor defence.”

The former Rossoneri boss hopes his former club can avoid going out of the Champions League to an English side for the third season running.

“Milan have the advantage on home turf, but at White Hart Lane Tottenham can make anyone suffer,” Ancelotti told La Stampa newspaper.

“It depends on how Milan do in terms of tempo. Manchester United and Chelsea risked losing it there.

Allegri: 'Defeat was undeserved'

Massimiliano Allegri insists Milan's 1-0 home defeat to Tottenham was “undeserved and qualification is still wide open.”

The Rossoneri have a mountain to climb in order to reach the Champions League quarter-finals after Peter Crouch scored the only goal at San Siro.

“We are paying the price for the mistake we made on the counter-attack,” said the Coach on Sky Sport Italia.

“We were looking for the goal against Tottenham, who defended very well and it was difficult to find space.

Bale doesn't travel with Spurs

Tottenham have confirmed that Gareth Bale has not travelled with the rest of the squad to face Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old Wales international has been out with a back injury for the last three weeks.

Last week, reports emerged suggesting Bale would recover in time for the first leg of Tottenham's second round tie.

However, he will stay in London and continue his physiotherapy work.

It's a big boost for Milan and for Ignazio Abate, the Milan right-back charged with marking Bale.

Allegri: Spurs strong without Bale

Max Allegri claims Tottenham will pose Milan a great threat even without the injured Gareth Bale.

Bale did not travel to Milan this morning after failing to recover from a back problem.

"Independently of Bale's absence, Tottenham have done well without him in recent games," Allegri said.

"They are an intense, very organised team with a good collective, with individuals who are technically very good.

Ibra: Experience counts in Europe

Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes Milan's pedigree in Europe will stand the club in good stead when they face Tottenham at San Siro on Tuesday.

Milan are looking to win the Champions League for the first time since 2007.

They have struggled in recent years to overcome English opposition, losing to Arsenal and Manchester United.

"Milan's experience in Europe is a big advantage. Many players who have won the Champions League play here. This can help and also calms the team.

Tottenham: 'Bale out of Milan match'

Milan received a boost with confirmation Gareth Bale is out of Tuesday's Champions League meeting with Tottenham.

The Welsh wizard has been a key figure in Spurs' European campaign so far, scoring a hat-trick against Inter.

However, manager Harry Redknapp confirmed that Bale will not recover from a back injury in time for Tuesday's game.

Bale already missed today's 2-1 win at Sunderland and does not hold out much hope of even making the trip to San Siro.
