Areola brings Donnarumma to PSG?

If Alphonse Areola leaves Paris Saint-Germain for Roma, then Gianluigi Donnarumma could join Gigi Buffon at Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, agent Mino Raiola is planning a merry-go-round of goalkeepers.

He represents both Areola and Donnarumma, so is prepared to orchestrate a form of squad rotation.

Unfortunate Buffon PSG debut

Gigi Buffon did not have the ideal Paris Saint-Germain debut, giving away a penalty and conceding two goals in a defeat to Chambly.

The 40-year-old goalkeeper started the friendly match and within five minutes had brought down a player to give away a penalty, which was then converted.

He conceded again before making way at half-time and PSG eventually lost 4-2.

It was their second pre-season friendly of the summer and Coach Thomas Tuchel used a 3-5-2 formation, but was missing several top names.

Buffon cannot rue PSG move

The 2006 World Cup winner surprised many with his Paris Saint-Germain move, but Nick Valerio believes it was the best decision for goalkeeper and Juventus.

It is ironic that in the same week Gianluigi Buffon signed for Paris Saint-Germain to continue his Champions League dream, Juventus should bring in Cristiano Ronaldo, the man who has made European glory seem de rigeur.

After 17 trophy-laden years with the Italian giants, legendary shot-stopper Buffon called time on not only his illustrious Bianconeri career, but his time in Italy at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

Buffon: 'I thought Napoli would win'

Gigi Buffon admits “at one point I really believed Napoli would win the Scudetto, because they had the psychological advantage” over Juventus.

The 40-year-old has left Juve, but is ready for a new chapter of his career and expected to have a medical with PSG next week.

“I gave what I could, in terms of talent and of nervous energy. Now I leave space to the younger players who must get accustomed to taking on even small amounts of responsibility so they can get bigger and bigger,” Buffon told Sky Sport Italia.

Meret worth the Napoli gamble

Napoli are taking a huge risk with €25m plus bonuses on 21-year-old goalkeeper Alex Meret, but Daryl Hammond hopes it'll pay off.

If the 2018 World Cup has taught us anything, it is that age is just a number. After all, 45-year-old Egyptian ‘keeper Essam El Hadary saved a penalty on the same day he came the eldest player to ever feature in the competition.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old France forward Kylian Mbappé continuously affirms his status as one of football’s brightest prospects with a stellar showing against Argentina.

Juve need the Champions League

By the time the next Final rolls along, it'll be 23 years since Juventus won the Champions League. That is simply too long for Adam Digby.

Remember that glorious night in Rome? A high, bouncing ball that Fabrizio Ravanelli controlled before slotting into the back of the net from a tight angle? The silver haired striker certainly enjoyed the goal, wheeling away with his shirt over his head in trademark fashion. Remember the penalty shoot-out? Four flawless spot kicks from Ciro Ferrara, Gianluca Pessotto, Michele Padovano and Vladimir Jugovic? What about those two incredible saves from the ultra-reliable Angelo Peruzzi?
