Napoli make first Areola offer

Napoli have made their first offer for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, as Salvatore Sirigu and Alex Meret are locked down.

The Partenopei need a new goalkeeper now that Pepe Reina has signed for Milan as a free agent.

New Coach Carlo Ancelotti is eager to have someone he already worked with, so Sirigu was considered a strong contender with plenty of Serie A and Champions League experience.

However, Torino are refusing to let the 31-year-old go and have proposed a contract extension.

PSG seek Buffon-Bonucci reunion

Paris Saint-Germain not only want Gigi Buffon, but could also ask Milan for Leonardo Bonucci, claims Tuttosport.

Buffon left Juventus at the expiry of his contract, but at the age of 40 is eager to continue playing and is widely believed to have agreed terms with PSG.

According to the Turin-based newspaper, there could be another Italy international and ex-Juve man heading to join Marco Verratti at the Parc des Princes.

Bonucci only joined Milan a year ago in a shock €42m move, leaving the champions of Italy for the new Rossoneri project.

Chiellini: ‘No CL priority’

New Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini says his side will not prioritise winning the Champions League over retaining the Scudetto.

The Old Lady have won Serie A in each of the last seven seasons. However, despite their domestic dominance they have failed to add to European Cups won in 1985 and 1996.

But Chiellini, who replaces Gigi Buffon as captain of the Turin club, insists the Bianconeri’s focus will be on winning everything once the new campaign begins in August.

Fabbricini: 'Time for Buffon salute'

FIGC Commissioner Roberto Fabbricini insists there is time for Gianluigi Buffon to receive an Italy swansong.

Tonight’s friendly against the Netherlands was organised at the Juventus Stadium in Turin largely as the final match in an Azzurri jersey for Buffon.

It is hosted in his ‘home’ stadium, but 40-year-old SuperGigi rejected the call-up from new Coach Roberto Mancini.

PSG waiting for Buffon verdict

Paris Saint-Germain are waiting for UEFA to confirm the extent of his ban before they sign Gianluigi Buffon, it’s reported.

The veteran goalkeeper is 40 years old and a free agent after the end of his Juventus deal.

It is widely reported he has agreed a two-year contract with PSG to continue his playing career in Ligue 1.

However, Mediaset Premium claim the delay in announcing his arrival is because they are waiting for the verdict of his UEFA investigation.

Buffon to PSG 'imminent'

Gianluigi Buffon is due to announce his two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain “imminently,” according to the Corriere dello Sport.

The newspaper claims on Wednesday’s front page that Buffon already has the contract drawn up and just needs to put pen to paper.

It’s believed to be a two-year deal worth €16m in wages.

Buffon is already 40 years old and will be 41 in January 2019, but his performances this season convinced him to keep playing, albeit no longer at Juventus.

Alisson is first choice in goal for the Seleçao and expected to further enhance his reputation after helping Roma to the Champions League semi-final and third place in Serie A.
