Lippi: 'Pirlo a coach similar to Zidane'

Marcello Lippi is confident Andrea Pirlo will succeed as Juventus coach, because he was ‘born to do everything’ and is following Zinedine Zidane’s footsteps in many respects.

The former Inter, Milan and Juventus midfielder has surprisingly been thrown straight in at the deep end with the Juve job in his first managerial role, replacing Maurizio Sarri.

“Andrea was born to do everything, not just be a coach,” World Cup winning Italy boss Lippi told La Gazzetta dello Sport magazine Sportweek.

Lippi: 'Inter are title challengers'

Former Italy CT Marcello Lippi has claimed Inter are ‘fully in the running’ for the Scudetto after the 2-1 win against Sampdoria.

The former Inter coach has pointed out the lack of a direct meeting with Juventus but will not rule out Inter as title challengers.

“For 15 days I have said that if Inter had beaten Sampdoria, it would have been a six-point gap and therefore they are fully in the running, even if there’s no direct clash with Juventus” he told Rai Uno.

Lippi: 'Serie A has to resume'

Marcello Lippi finds the arguments over restarting the Serie A season to be ‘vomit-inducing,’ because football is not treated as a huge industry.

The medical protocol agreed by the FIGC and Government was rejected just 24 hours later by Serie A clubs and the Players’ Association, so it remains to be seen whether group training will indeed resume on Monday.

“The situation we’re experiencing now is vomit-inducing, it really does make me furious,” the World Cup winner told Radio Deejay.
