Report: Allegri ready to work again

Former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri seems set for a return after one year without a job and has reportedly been targeted by Paris Saint-Germain.

The Italian has recharged his batteries for the last year and, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, waits for the best opportunity to present itself.

The report claims he would prefer a new job in Italy because of his family but it could be difficult to find a job that lives up to his expectations in Serie A.

Newcastle in for Allegri?

Newcastle United are linked with a surprise move for former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri, according to SportMediaset.

Saudi Arabian Mohammad bin Salman’s investment group are allegedly close to taking over the Magpies and according to the Italian outlet, they have put Allegri at the top of their wish list.

SportMediaset claims Allegri could eventually end up in the Premier League after his sabbatical year away from football and reveals the Saudi Prince has great ambitions for the Tynesiders.

PSG start Allegri talks

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly initiated talks with Max Allegri over replacing Thomas Tuchel next season, according to a report in France.

PSG are top of Ligue 1 and are in the quarter finals of the Champions League, however it’s believed that the club aren't happy with the German coach, and want to make a change for next season.

According to French website Foot Mercato, the Parisian club would like former Juventus and Milan coach Allegri to take over from Tuchel next season.

Emre Can: 'I left because of Sarri'

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Emre Can has revealed why he left Juventus in the January transfer window. “Maurizio Sarri told me in a 20-second phone call that I wasn’t on the Champions League list.”

The German international had played an integral part in his first season in Turin, making 37 appearances in all competitions.

However Can’s problems started whem Maurizio Sarri took over from Max Allegri last summer.

PSG searching in Italy?

Paris Saint-Germain are being linked with both Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri and his predecessor Massimiliano Allegri, as Thomas Tuchel faces an uncertain future.

La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolò Schira has reported that PSG could be looking to Italy in search of their next head coach at the Parc des Princes.

German tactician Thomas Tuchel has been struggling to convince in Europe and a 2-1 loss in the first leg against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League has not helped him secure his future in the French capital.

Buffon: 'I hope Sarri stays'

Gianluigi Buffon felt Juventus needed a “change” and “hopes” Maurizio Sarri will stay at the Allianz Stadium, “because that will mean we’ll have won something”.

Juventus are currently top of the League, fighting for a place in the Final of the Coppa Italia and prepare to face Olympique Lyonnais in the last 16 of the Champions League.

But Maurizio Sarri has still been criticised during his first year in charge of the team and lately the Old Lady have been linked with Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola.

Allegri: 'No Champions League curse'

Max Allegri insists there’s “no such thing as a Champions League curse” for Juventus, because reaching the Final is already a victory.

The tactician reached the Final twice on the Bianconeri bench, losing 3-1 to Barcelona in 2015 and 4-1 to Real Madrid in 2017.

Juve have famously not won the trophy since beating Ajax on penalties in 1996.

Sarri explained himself to the President

Coach Maurizio Sarri reportedly analysed the situation at Juventus during a dinner with President Andrea Agnelli and sporting director Fabio Paratici.

La Stampa reports that a meeting between the former Napoli and Chelsea coach and the club’s hierarchy took place after the teams second defeat in three matches last weekend.

A 2-1 defeat to Hellas Verona helped Inter gain valuable terrain in the Scudetto fight with a 4-2 win against Milan in the Derby della Madonnina.

Could Juventus recall Allegri?

There are growing murmurs in the Italian media that Juventus could sack Maurizio Sarri and recall Max Allegri, who is still under contract.

The Bianconeri fumbled a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 at Hellas Verona on Saturday, their third Serie A defeat of the season after Lazio and Napoli.

It allowed Inter to catch them at the top of the table, with Lazio sitting only one point behind.

Gasperini wins Panchina d'Oro gong

Atalanta’s Gian Piero Gasperini has won the Panchina d’Oro award for 2018-19, with Sinisa Mihajlovic in second and Max Allegri finishing third.

The award ceremony took place this afternoon, and it was revealed that Gasperini picked up the gong for the first time in his career.

The former Genoa and Inter coach guided La Dea to third place in last season’s Serie A table.

They also reached the final of the Coppa Italia final, but lost to Lazio.
