Nainggolan: ‘CL the dream’

Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan describes the Champions League as “the dream of every young lad who plays football”.

The Giallorossi have reached the semi-finals of the competition, and will face Liverpool next week for the right to contest the final in Kiev.

“The Champions League is the dream of every young lad who plays football,” Nainggolan told UEFA’s official website.

Nainggolan: 'Roma wanted it more'

Radja Nainggolan said Roma “wanted it more and really deserved” to knock Barcelona out of the Champions League quarter-finals.

The 4-1 first leg defeat seemed to put the tie out of reach, but an epic 3-0 victory at the Olimpico sent the Giallorossi through to their first European Cup semi-final since 1984.

“The 3-0 was incredible, but if you watch the two legs, we wanted it more and really deserved to go through,” Nainggolan told Roma TV.

Nainggolan: Better to win with Roma

Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan claims ‘it’s better to be a leading light for a less-favoured team and win with them’.

Nainggolan missed Roma’s 4-1 first-leg defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals, but the midfielder hopes his return can inspire a comeback at the Olimpico on Wednesday.

Nainggolan to miss Barca?

Radja Nainggolan will reportedly not even make Roma’s matchday squad against Barcelona on Wednesday evening.

Nainggolan was initially expected to be named as a substitute at Camp Nou, but Pagine Romaniste suggests the midfielder will only be a spectator.

His place is set to be taken by Lorenzo Pellegrini, with Daniele De Rossi and Kevin Strootman partnering the Italian in central midfield.

Nainggolan: ‘I’m fine!’

Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan assures fans “I’m fine, otherwise I wouldn’t be going” to Barcelona.
