Nainggolan: 'Difficult period expected'

Radja Nainggolan says Cagliari’s period of difficulty was to be expected, and that he has no problems with Inter boss Antonio Conte. “He was a man.”

The Rossoblu have lost each of their last five games in all competitions, including last night's 4-1 defeat to Inter in the Coppa Italia, and Nainggolan believes that their purple patch was never going to last forever.

Calls for 'no mistakes' against Milan

Radja Nainggolan said Cagliari “can’t make a mistake” against Milan and admitted the Rossoblu are affected by losing three games in a row.

The Rossoblu started the season with only two defeats in their first 15 games, but after the 4-0 defeat to Juventus on Monday, they are on a winless run of four games since the start of December.

Cagliari clarify on Nandez and Radja

Cagliari director of sport Marcello Carli puts an €80m price-tag on Nahitan Nandez and assures they'd take "even a 10 per cent chance" of buying Radja Nainggolan from Inter.

Nandez has played an instrumental part in elevating the Sardinian side up the table, where they reached as high as fourth a few weeks ago.

“We knew well that this was the right year to rebuild, and we for this reason have no intention of giving up in January," said Carli in his press conference.

'Cagliari doing Inter a favour'

Cagliari patron Tommaso Giulini believes his club is doing Inter “a favour” by helping Radja Nainggolan return to his best form in Sardinia.

The former Roma midfielder has played a key role in the Rossoblu’s rise to Serie A top six this season, but he only returned on loan after Antonio Conte froze him out of his plans for the Nerazzurri.

“We are satisfied,” Giulini told Radio Anch’io Sport. “He is happy to be back in Cagliari and we’re happy with his performances.

Cagliari are the real deal

With a head-to-head for top four status with Lazio this evening, Marcello Cossali-Francis assures Cagliari are not a fluke.

President Tommaso Giulini felt the sting of last term’s failure. Narrowly avoiding relegation, dealing with protests from fans and considered a dumping ground for has-beens and never-weres. Something radical had to be done in order to prevent even flirting with demotion in this extremely special year.
