Juve ask for Bruno Alves

With Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli injured, Juventus have asked Parma for Bruno Alves.

Multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and more all claim there had already been an approach for the 37-year-old centre-back over the last few days.

However, news that Bonucci will be out for approximately a month with a sprained ankle and this evening Chiellini limping off with another recurrence of his calf issues during the Coppa Italia quarter-final with Atalanta prompted a rethink.

Medhi Benatia admits he thought he would retire at Juventus, but the return of Leonardo Bonucci forced him to ‘change my plans’.

Allegri: Juve not CL favourites

Max Allegri insists Juventus are not Champions League favourites but assures Leonardo Bonucci’s injury is ‘less serious’ than they first feared.

Bonucci is facing a month out with an ankle injury, potentially ruling him out of Juve’s Champions League last-16 tie with Atletico Madrid.

“Pjanic and Khedira are available, maybe Mandzukic too,” Allegri said at a Press conference for Wednesday’s Coppa Italia quarter-final against Atalanta.

Bonucci out for a month?

There are reports Leonardo Bonucci could be out of action for a month with a sprained ankle, changing the Juventus transfer strategy.

Bonucci: Not the real me at Milan

Leonardo Bonucci admits he was not the ‘real’ him at Milan but assures they let him ‘mature’ and hopes Gonzalo Higuain ‘gets back to being a great player’.

Bonucci lasted just one season at Milan before heading back to Juventus last summer, while Higuain joined Chelsea on Wednesday after a similarly-brief spell at San Siro.

“I’ve matured, I’m now more rational when I make decisions,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Gattuso: 'Higuain not ready for Milan'

Gennaro Gattuso insists Gonzalo Higuain’s transfer to Chelsea is not decided, but he is dropped for Milan’s trip to Genoa because “he is not mentally ready to do battle with us.”

The fact Higuain’s name did not appear in the squad list suggests a move to Stamford Bridge, via Juventus, is imminent.

Juve reviving ex-Milan flops

Leonardo Bonucci and Mattia De Sciglio look like different players in the Juventus jersey than at Milan, explains Matthew Santangelo.

Winding the clock back two summers ago to a very bizarre transfer window in Italy, Leonardo Bonucci – a fundamental pillar in the famed ‘BBC’ of the Azzurri and Bianconeri - left for Milan after a falling out with manager Massimiliano Allegri. In return, but in a separate operation, once-promising full-back Mattia De Sciglio became Juventus property.
