Serie A provides Christmas crackers

Inter gave the chasing pack an early Christmas present, as they threw away a chance to go four points clear, while The Old Lady will not be alone this festive period as she officially joined the party writes Richard Hall.

Rugani: ‘Learning from BBC’

Daniele Rugani feels “very fortunate” to be learning from Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini at Juventus.

The Italian Under-21 international made his first start for the Bianconeri in yesterday’s Coppa Italia win over Torino, and praised his more experienced teammates.

“I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by top pros on a daily basis and to be able to watch and learn from everything they do,” Rugani told JTV.

Allegri: ‘Scudetto race still open’

Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri believes “the Scudetto race is still open” but Inter are the favourites.

The Bianconeri have won six Serie A games in a row, and the tactician was asked about the title race ahead of the Coppa Italia tie with Torino.

“I’d rather talk about the game tomorrow,” Allegri said in his pre-match Press conference.

Bonucci: 'Juve turning point'

Leonardo Bonucci reveals the “turning point” that allowed Juventus to rediscover their form.

The Bianconeri have won their last five Serie A games in a row and qualified for the Champions League Last 16.

“We looked each other in the eyes and realised this could not be the real Juventus,” the defender told Sky Sport Italia and Mediaset Premium.

“That moment helped us to really form as a group compared to how we started the season and it showed the younger players that we had no time to lose.

Juventus stars get Team of the Year nod

Six Juventus players have been nominated for UEFA’s Team of the Year, including goalkeeper Gigi Buffon.

The Bianconeri reached the Champions League final last season, eventually losing 3-1 to Barcelona in Berlin.

Buffon was snubbed when the shortlist for the Ballon d’Or was drawn up, but has been named as a candidate for the team of the season.

Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini have also been given a nod, as well as Claudio Marchisio, Alvaro Morata and Paul Pogba.

'Italy lack alternatives in defence'

Ciro Ferrara and Daniele Adani believe Italy’s problems are focused on Juventus defenders, “but there are no alternatives.”

The Azzurri were beaten 3-1 by Belgium on Friday and host Romania in another friendly on Tuesday night.

“Tactically, technically and in terms of character, the defenders used by Antonio Conte are the most talented and reliable,” ex-Juventus centre-back Ferrara told the Corriere della Sera newspaper.

Bonucci: 'Fear for Euro 2016'

Leonardo Bonucci and Antonio Conte admit the Paris terror attacks create “fear” for next summer’s Euro 2016 tournament.

A series of co-ordinated attacks occurred simultaneously around the city, including what is reported to be a suicide bomb outside the Stade de France.

It occurred during France’s friendly match against Germany and the explosion was clearly heard by those inside the arena.

This is one of the venues that will be used for the 2016 European Championships in France next summer.

Italy test 4-4-2 for Belgium

Italy tested out a 4-4-2 system in training today with Graziano Pellè partnering Eder.

Antonio Conte oversaw the second day of training ahead of Friday’s friendly with Belgium in Brussels.

The Azzurri then play another test match against Romania in Bologna next Tuesday.

He experimented a 4-4-2 tactic with Southampton striker Pellè and Sampdoria top scorer Eder up front.

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci was back in training after resting on Monday with flu symptoms.

Bruno: 'I want to punch Bonucci!'

Pasquale Bruno admits he fantasises about “punching Leonardo Bonucci in the face, giving him five stitches to a split lip.”

The former Torino and Fiorentina defender was nicknamed ‘The Animal’ for his ferocious attitude on the field and the legendary time he was sent off but refused to leave, forcing several teammates and club officials to drag him away.

“The other night I was watching Juve against Torino and seeing Bonucci protest all the time made me think,” Bruno told Tuttomercatoweb.
