De Boer: 'I'm very happy for De Vrij and Inter'

Former Inter coach Frank de Boer, currently the CT of Holland, said he’s ‘very happy’ for Stefan de Vrij and the Nerazzurri.

The Netherlands coach congratulated the Beneamata for having won their first Scudetto since 2009-10.

“I’m very happy for Stefan and for all of Inter in general,” De Boer told Tuttosport. “Starting with the fans.

“We are talking about a top club, it’s nice that they have returned to victory as a gift for years of domination by Juve.”

De Vrij praises 'passionate and demanding' Conte

Inter defender Stefan de Vrij praised ‘passionate and demanding’ Antonio Conte, and said he feels ‘fresh and fit’ ahead of Euro 2020 with Holland.

The centre-back has helped Conte’s men lift the Scudetto this season and played 31 Serie A games in the process.

The 29-year-old said working with Conte made him ‘understand why he’s so successful’ and revealed the Nerazzurri know ‘everything about our opponents’.

De Vrij: 'Inter learned to be patient'

'De Vrij clearly superior to De Ligt'

Dutch pundit and former player Willem van Hanegem claims Inter defender Stefan de Vrij is ‘clearly superior’ to Juventus star Matthijs de Ligt.

While De Vrij is considerably older at 29, it means he also has far more experience both of football in general and of Serie A, having joined Lazio in 2014 and Inter in 2018.

De Ligt is just 21, but Juventus paid €85m to sign him from Ajax in the summer of 2019.

De Vrij recovers from COVID

Inter defender Stefan de Vrij has recovered from COVID, according to reports in Italy.

The Dutch defender had tested positive for Coronavirus on March 18.

According to Calciomercato.com and FcInternews.it, the swab test underwent by the former Lazio defender came back negative. Therefore Antonio Conte hopes he can be eligible to play against Bologna on Saturday.

De Vrij will now undergo new medical examinations before return to training with the rest of the team and be eligible for the Stadio Dall’Ara tie.

Raiola hits out at FIFA: 'It's an old system'

Agent Mino Raiola claims football doesn’t need FIFA and says he ‘cannot accept that an organisation that has people in jail wants to regulate my business’.

The Football Stakeholders’ Committee and the FIFA council want to apply new reforms for agents and players, completely changing the current business model in football.

FIFA claims it will protect the integrity of football, hoping to introduce a cap on commissions and a licensing system that has Raiola fuming.

Vecino negative for COVID

Inter midfielder Matias Vecino has recovered from coronavirus and will undergo the medical checks to rejoin the group.

The Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte starts to recover the absentees, with Samir Handanovic already negative for COVID-19.

The goalkeeper should be back against Bologna in the next round of fixtures and Vecino tested negative too after the last round of swabs at Inter.

The defensive duo Stefan de Vrij and Danilo D’Ambrosio are still positive and continue to be quarantined.

Inter: De Vrij and Vecino have COVID

Inter players are banned from travelling for international duty as the club announced Stefan de Vrij and Matias Vecino also tested positive for COVID-19.

After the news of Danilo D’Ambrosio and Samir Handanovic have contracted the virus, the Nerazzurri released another statement this morning to announce more cases of COVID-19.

The local health authority of Milan have decided Inter will not be able to train for four days and the players from the Nerazzurri squad will not be able to travel for the international break.

De Boer includes four Serie A players in Holland squad

The Netherlands CT Frank de Boer has called up four Serie A players for the upcoming international break.

The Oranje are preparing for games against Turkey, Latvia and Gibraltar in the World Cup qualifying this month.

The first match, against Turkey, is played on March 24 and four players from the Italian League are included in the Holland squad.

Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt has been called up, joined by Inter centre-back Stefan de Vrij.

De Vrij: 'Inter can talk about the Scudetto'

Stefan de Vrij likes his new nickname and said Inter should be able to talk about the Scudetto, as he praised both Stefano Pioli and Antonio Conte.

De Vrij moved to Inter from Lazio on a free transfer in July 2018 and the 28-year-old played his 100th match in Nerazzurro against Hellas Verona.

The centre-back said he likes his new nickname ‘The Wall’ and is flattered by the comparison to former defender Walter Samuel.

“Yes, I like it,” De Vrij told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I didn’t have a nickname before in Holland.
