Theo and Rebic ready for Milan

Ante Rebic, Theo Hernandez and Lucas Biglia are in the Milan squad travelling to Hellas Verona on Sunday evening.

It kicks off on Sunday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT), click here for a match preview.

It’s the first call-up for Rebic, who arrived on a two-year loan deal from Eintracht Frankfurt on transfer deadline day, with Andre Silva going in the other direction.

Former Real Madrid left-back Theo Hernandez is available again following his ankle injury in pre-season.

Milan: Calhanoglu to replace Biglia?

Hakan Calhanoglu could replace Lucas Biglia as Milan’s ‘regista’ against Udinese on Sunday after the Argentine pulled up in training.

ANSA and Sportitalia both report Biglia picked up a problem in his left thigh and is a doubt for Milan’s Serie A opener this weekend.

If so, they speculate Calhanoglu will play as the deep-lying playmaker in midfield, with Lucas Paqueta and Fabio Borini flanking him.

Genoa close on Ajax's Schone

Genoa are in advanced talks for veteran Ajax midfielder Lasse Schone, claim sources in Italy and the Netherlands.

La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sportitalia are confident the deal is close to being done, as is Dutch newspaper VTBL.

Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli wanted an experienced figure in the middle of the park and had targeted Milan’s Lucas Biglia.

However, Schone is in the final term of his contract after seven years at Ajax and not guaranteed regular first team football this season.

Milan demand Biglia transfer fee

Milan have asked Genoa for at least €5-6m in order to sell Lucas Biglia, it’s reported, which could scupper the deal.

Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli has pin-pointed Biglia as the ideal replacement for Miguel Veloso in the middle of the park.

He could be released by Milan, largely because of his €3.5m per year salary, so there were suggestions he could terminate the contract by mutual consent.

However, Sky Sport Italia and Il Secolo XIX newspaper claim the Rossoneri would make a loss unless they picked up at least €5-6m transfer fee.

Biglia tempted by Genoa

Lucas Biglia could terminate his Milan contract by mutual consent to try a new Serie A adventure with Genoa.

According to Sky Sport Italia, new Genoa Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli is convinced Biglia will shine at Marassi and revitalise his career after a difficult couple of years.

The Argentina international is considering a two-year contract with option for a third season.

However, in order to make the move, he’d first have to terminate his current deal with Milan.

Genoa are interested in Milan and Argentina midfielder Lucas Biglia, according to Sportitalia.

It’s reported Genoa are ready to give Biglia a new chance to shine in Serie A.

He impressed at Lazio and made the move to Milan for €19.2m two summers ago.

The 33-year-old has struggled to make an impact at San Siro and could move on.

Sportitalia maintain Genoa will give Biglia the opportunity to both remain in Serie A and prove himself all over again.

Milan are reportedly hoping to make it a trio of midfielders in Rade Krunic, Jordan Veretout and Ismael Bennacer.

Gazzetta dello Sport and Sportitalia claim Milan have offered €13m plus Lucas Biglia and Diego Laxalt for Veretout, despite being close to a breakthrough for Empoli’s Bennacer.

However, while La Gazzetta claims Biglia and Laxalt have both been tabled to Fiorentina, Sportitalia is adamant the Rossoneri are only willing to part-exchange the Argentine.

Viola only want cash for Veretout

According to the latest reports, Fiorentina only want €25m cash for Jordan Veretout, which Roma, Milan and Napoli are not prepared to pay.

There were more meetings today and the Giallorossi seemed to be close to a deal.

However, now Sky Sport Italia, Calciomercato.com and more claim Fiorentina have ruled out accepting players as part of the transfer.

This is a huge problem, because the interested clubs are all offering exchanges to lower the cost of the €25m operation.
