ADL: 'Ashamed of the San Paolo'

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis called the Stadio San Paolo “a toilet” and asked the council to approve reconstruction plans.

This week the council of Naples rejected an initial plan to take the stadium land on a 99-year lease, the same deal that Juventus and Udinese have with their arenas, because it was “not in the public interest.”

De Laurentiis spoke at an event in the city and was damning about the state of the San Paolo.

Zamparini: 'Iachini needs a kick'

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini said Beppe Iachini “deserves a kick up the backside” for his negative mentality.

The fiery patron spoke to Radio Kiss Kiss this afternoon and, as always, spilled the beans in quite spectacular fashion.

“Napoli are really strong at the moment, but Palermo sat back too much and I said that to my Coach,” he noted after Wednesday’s 2-0 defeat.

De Laurentiis: ‘I told Sarri to change’

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis claims he told Coach Maurizio Sarri to switch to a 4-3-3.

The Partenopei have won their last five Serie A games playing with a trident, and the patron insists he had something to do with it.

“The Coach caused me great pain in the past,” De Laurentiis recalled on Radio 24.

“For Empoli-Napoli last year I couldn’t go to the game, so I called the communications director [Nicola] Lombardo to ask the result, and he said ‘3-0’.

ADL: 'Football is sick'

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis discussed the stadium controversy and why football “is sick.”

The patron and Hollywood movie producer spoke to reporters at a book launch in Naples, also attended by former President Corrado Ferlaino.

“In recent years, football has been modified to an extreme degree and has become industrialised. For example, in England football suffered through a terrifying period and was then revived thanks to laws that allow families to go to the stadium.

ADL: 'Sarri-Napoli for five years'

Aurelio De Laurentiis said Maurizio Sarri is “locked down to Napoli for five years” and explained the Walter Mazzarri split.

The President spoke to Radio Radio in Rome and compared the club to his other job as a movie producer.

“I always worked to give the public what it wanted and I do the same in football for those who come to the stadium.

“If there’s one thing I know how to do, it’s write contracts, because I come from a much more complex world of cinema. I take the same approach in sport.
