Benatia: ‘Juventus have two teams’

Medhi Benatia confirms “it’s disappointing” to be left out in certain games but “here at Juventus we have two teams of the same level”.

The Moroccan international has made only three appearances in the Bianconeri’s 10 games so far this season, as he competes with Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli and Daniele Rugani for a place.

“I’m playing a little less than last year,” Benatia acknowledged in an interview with Juventus TV.

Benatia: Only Juve can stop Juve

Medhi Benatia claims ‘only Juventus can stop Juventus’ and that Leonardo Bonucci is a ‘very important’ player for the club.

Benatia partnered Bonucci in Juve’s defence during their 3-0 win against Young Boys in the Champions League on Tuesday, which extended the Bianconeri’s 100 percent start to the season.

“In the Champions League it’s always difficult, we faced a physical team, but with our goal everything became easier,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Benatia to retire from Morocco?

Juventus defender Medhi Benatia is considering retiring from international duty with Morocco, it’s reported.

According to RMC Sport, the 31-year-old is ready to follow in the footsteps of teammate Mario Mandzukic and focus solely on his club football.

Although he was born in France, Benatia has represented Morocco since he was a teenager and now has 58 senior caps for his country.

He took part in the 2018 World Cup with Morocco, exiting in the group stage.

Benatia: ‘Strootman spoke of Marseille’

Juventus defender Medhi Benatia confirms he spoke to Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman about Marseille - “I told him what was waiting for him”.

The Dutchman is ready to move to Stade Velodrome for a fee in excess of €25m, with L’Équipe reporting that OM will pay €25m plus €5m in bonuses.

The newspaper spoke to a former teammate of Strootman’s about the move, and the Bianconeri defender reveals he offered advice to the Roma man.

Juventus targeting Godin

Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin could be heading to Juventus, opening the door for Medhi Benatia to leave.
