Juve reserve €30m for Benatia

Juventus have reportedly set aside €30m for Bayern Munich defender Medhi Benatia.

According to Sport Mediaset Premium, the Bianconeri aim to reinforce their defence with more experience for next season.

This certainly isn’t the first time that Benatia has been linked with Juve, as he was a target last summer and in January.

The Morocco international has said he’d be happy to come back to Serie A, having left Roma for Bayern Munich in August 2014 for €28m.

Benatia pay cut for Roma

Medhi Benatia is reportedly ready to take a 25 per cent pay cut so he can leave Bayern Munich for a return to Roma.

These rumours have been circulating for several months and his lack of playing time in Germany is adding to the frustration.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, the 28-year-old defender is prepared to reduce his wages to under €3m per season in order to push the transfer through.

There are still issues, as Bayern seem unwilling to release Benatia on loan with an option to buy.

Roma target Banega, Benatia?

Bayern Munich’s Medhi Benatia and Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega are reportedly Roma’s top two priorities for the January transfer market.

Il Messaggero writes today that sporting director Walter Sabatini has clear ideas about how he wants to progress in the market, with two full-backs, a centre-back and a midfielder to fill in for Kevin Strootman the targets.

The newspaper believes that for now Benatia, who was previously with the Giallorossi in 2013/14, is the defensive priority in the market.

Juventus consider Benatia

Juventus are looking to bring Bayern Munich defender Medhi Benatia back to Italy, according to reports.

The Moroccan international joined the Bavarian side from Roma in 2014, but has made just two Bundesliga starts so far this season.

Tuttosport believes that the Bianconeri are in constant contact with Bayern over the player’s situation, with relations excellent between the clubs after deals for Arturo Vidal and Kingsley Coman.

'I'd like Marquinhos, Lamela and Benatia back'

Roma director Walter Sabatini admits he’d love to bring Medhi Benatia, Erik Lamela and Marquinhos back, but it’s unlikely.

The chief was asked about the trio during today’s charity event between the Roma Legends and Liberi Nantes.

“Before you talked about Lamela, then Marquinhos and now even Benatia,” shrugged Sabatini at reporters.

“I’ve always liked Medhi, of course, and if there was the chance to bring him back, then I would. But last year he left in some pretty bitter circumstances with the fans…
