Dzeko: 'Nobody believed in Roma'

Edin Dzeko said the 3-0 over Barcelona was “one of the best games Roma fans have seen” and now aim to upset Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool.

The Giallorossi will be at Anfield on Tuesday night for the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.

“From the group stage even, nobody expected us to go through, because we were in a group with Atletico Madrid, who reach the semis every year, and Chelsea, who are one of the biggest teams,” Dzeko told The Telegraph newspaper.

Grobbelaar 'still laughing' at Roma

Bruce Grobbelaar is “still laughing” at his ‘spaghetti legs’ routine in the 1984 European Cup Final and is confident Liverpool will beat Roma again.

The clubs have been drawn in the Champions League semi-final, which will be their first meeting since that fateful 1984 Final decided on penalties at the Stadio Olimpico.

It became legendary for Grobbelaar’s ‘spaghetti legs’ dance on his way to the touchline that made many think he was crazy, yet it managed to put off Bruno Conti enough to miss.

Klopp: 'Roma not an easy draw'

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp warns “if anybody thinks Roma were the easiest draw, then they didn’t see both games against Barcelona.”

The two sides are scheduled to clash in the Champions League semi-final, as the draw on Friday pitted Real Madrid against Bayern Munich.

“Whichever opponent we would have got, I would have said there is a chance because it is football - so there is a chance against Roma,” Klopp told the official Liverpool website.

Roma mock Harry Kane

Roma are supporting their former player Mohamed Salah in the race for Premier League top-scorer posting a video mocking Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.

The England striker successfully appealed to have Christian Eriksen’s goal against Stoke City reassigned to him, with the panel deciding he had got a touch on a free-kick.

That takes Kane to within four goals of Salah, who has 29 in the league for Liverpool after joining from Roma in the summer.

Monchi: Alisson, Schick, Salah…

Monchi assures Alisson will stay at Roma this summer, explains why Patrik Schick is like Dani Alves and admits Mohamed Salah had to be sold.

Alisson’s performances have reportedly caught the eye of Real Madrid, while Schick has endured a slow start to his Roma spell - despite arriving for a club-record fee - and Salah has gone on to score over 30 goals for Liverpool, making his €42m transfer fee seem low.

“I can’t say Alisson will stay at Roma for 30 years,” the sporting director was quoted as saying by CalcioNews24.

Pallotta: 'Roma had no choice'

Roma President Jim Pallotta hit back at critics claiming “the club is a supermarket. We had no choice” with Miralem Pjanic and Mohamed Salah.

The Giallorossi have shown a tendency to sell their top players every summer, most notably Pjanic to Juventus and Salah to Liverpool.

“Things aren’t as simple as a player goes or we transfer him. Let me give you an example. There’s a frustration on my part that people say Roma are a supermarket,” Pallotta told Sirius XM radio.
