Giorgio Chiellini has joked how he supported Milan and idolised Paolo Maldini, but "I became smarter. Now it's difficult to find a bigger Juventus fan than me."

Chiellini was speaking to Juve's Junior Members at the Allianz Stadium on Monday afternoon, where he fielded questions about his career.

Asked about his toughest opponent, he replied: "Apart from Ronaldo and Messi, who are two extra-terrestrials, I always say Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Capello: 'De Ligt better with Chiellini'

Fabio Capello believes Matthijs de Ligt would've enjoyed a better start to his Juventus career had he played alongside Giorgio Chiellini.

De Ligt was signed from Ajax for €75m last summer, but has been scrutinised for several mistakes made during the opening months of his Juve career.

The defender was initially supposed to bide his time and be eased into the first team, however the injury to Chiellini after the first game of the season catapulted the Dutchman straight into the side, alongside Leonardo Bonucci.

I want it all, warns Chiellini

Juventus and Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini has declared that he wants to end this season with winners’ medals for the Champions League and Euro 2020.

Chiellini is currently battling back from an ACL injury and turned 35 in August, but he made it clear he was setting the bar higher than ever for club and country.

“I want to win the 10th Scudetto and then possibly the Champions League and European Championship,” he told Juventus TV. “But if I manage to win only one of them, I’ll be very happy.

'Dybala can emulate Juve greats'

Paulo Dybala can “do what David Trezeguet, Mauro Camoranesi and Pavel Nedved did” at Juventus, according to Giorgio Chiellini.

Dybala was close to leaving Juve over the summer as they tried to bring in Romelu Lukaku, but the forward has gone on to re-establish himself for Maurizio Sarri’s side, scoring and assisting three goals each this season.

“Paulo’s a very quiet person, a golden boy who we’ve seen grow with us,” Chiellini told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Chiellini 'ready before end of season'

Giorgio Chiellini “will be back on the pitch between January and March,” assured the Juventus captain’s agent, and ready for Euro 2020.

The 35-year-old defender was ruled out for at least six months by a torn anterior cruciate ligament at the end of August.

“His recovery is progressing positively and the man has this magnetic positivity,” Davide Lippi told TMW Radio.

“It’s incredible. He works so hard every day and when I call him up, he’s the one who reassures me. He is making giant leaps forward.

Juventus set play surrender

The problem of conceding from dead ball situations is not new at Juventus, nor is it solely a tactical issue, explains Elio Salerno.

Over the years the name Juventus has been synonymous with disciplined, aggressive and resolute defending. However, a defensive deficiency has been discovered. Despite the new season being in its infancy, this apparent weakness in the back-line has already come under heavy scrutiny.

Chiellini to be non-playing captain

Giorgio Chiellini will reportedly continue to sit on the Juventus bench as a non-playing captain throughout his six-month lay-off.

The 35-year-old defender tore his anterior cruciate ligament during training and had surgery in Innsbruck this week.

He is not expected back on the field for at least six months, but that doesn’t mean Juve won’t be able to count on his support or leadership qualities.
