Benatia: ‘Juventus want the treble’

Juventus defender Medhi Benatia sets lofty goals for the coming season - “we want to win all the trophies we’re involved in”.

The Moroccan international has joined the Bianconeri on loan from Bayern Munich, and is looking to compete for the Champions League.

“Don’t forget that two years ago Juve were in the final of the Champions League and were unlucky against Bayern last season,” Benatia pointed out in an interview with mountakhab.net.

Chiellini on Pjanic and Higuain

Giorgio Chiellini claims Miralem Pjanic 'raised the quality' for Juventus, whilst Gonzalo Higuain 'ups the intensity'.

The Bianconeri snatched the two most valuable players from their direct competitors for the Scudetto, generating a great deal of resentment amid fans of Roma and Napoli.

“We raised the quality with Pjanic,” Chiellini told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “He can give us a lot in open play and on dead balls, he scores and he produces assists.

Chiellini: 'Juve, no more off time'

Giorgio Chiellini says Juventus are 'running out of time' and 'must fix all the small details'.

The Bianconeri defence didn't look as impregnable over the summer as it did last season, but the 32-year-old knows there is room to improve.

“It's a work in progress,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “We know we must get better in the finer details. We don't have very much time left and starting from tomorrow we'll have to give a little extra every day, because it's the details that make the difference.

Rugani: ‘Lucky to play with BBC’

Daniele Rugani admits he’s “lucky” to play with Juventus’ famous BBC defence, and hopes to replace them “one day”.

The youngster re-joined the Bianconeri from Empoli last season, and made 21 appearances in all competitions.

With the 21-year-old having the opportunity to learn from Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini - nicknamed the ‘BBC’ - the centre-back knows he’s in a fortunate position.

Chiellini: 'Won the love of a nation'

Giorgio Chiellini notes Italy “were considered sacrificial lambs and were creating something magical, winning back respect and the love of a nation.”

The Azzurri went out of the Euro 2016 quarter-finals in a sudden death penalty shoot-out after the 1-1 draw with Germany.

“In mid-May our adventure began, accompanied by the opinion – common among critics and fans – that this Nazionale would soon become a sacrificial lamb for many opponents,” wrote the Juventus defender on Instagram.

Klose: ‘Italian defenders pull shirts…’

Miroslav Klose gives Germany advice ahead of the Italy game - “Italian defenders often hold you, and they do it well”.

The veteran striker spent five seasons in Serie A with Lazio, and had some advice for his countrymen ahead of tomorrow’s Euro 2016 Quarter-Final.

“Italian defenders often hold you, and they do it very well,” Klose told SID.

“You can’t be static in the penalty area, you have to run in from outside so the referee becomes aware of it.

Italy are 'tough luck for any opponent', says Christian Vieri, who also praises the BBC defence and 'madman' Gianluigi Buffon.

The trio of Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini is doing a fantastic job of defending the Azzurri's goal, and even the hosts France are reportedly impressed.

“They respect us very much,” Vieri assured La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Around the world, people feel the weight of our four World Cups.

Azzurri Ultra: A team of giants

Italy's win against Spain gives them sweet revenge, believes Richard Hall, as they prepare to face their classic rivals Germany.

‘TIKITALIA’ was the headline in the Corriere Dello Sport as it claimed that Italy had crushed Spain, the masters of possession. They were right, the feeling of intense gratification that engulfed the Peninsula, when Graziano Pelle scored the Azzurri’s second goal, was as combustible as Antonio Conte on the side-lines. They had done it, they had lifted the curse of Spain, they had got their revenge. This was a team performance from a squad, not of spectacular stars but of a collective that had now allowed a nation to dream.

Chiellini: 'Good stuff starts now'

Giorgio Chiellini assures “the good stuff starts now” after Italy beat Spain 2-0 to set up a Euro 2016 quarter-final with Germany.

“We had a few things to prove and take revenge for. We deserved it and frankly made it too anxious in the final 15 minutes, as we should’ve finished it off a lot earlier. We wanted it more,” the defender told Rai Sport.

He found the net in the first half, then Graziano Pellè sealed the scoreline in stoppages.
