Euro play-offs: Scotland, Slovakia, Hungary through

Scotland eliminated Serbia on penalties, Juraj Kucka scored to send Slovakia to Euro 2020, despite a Milan Skriniar own goal, and Hungary completed a stoppage-time turnaround against Iceland.

The play-offs were certainly dramatic today, as the calendar is completed for next summer’s European Championship.

Rossi: 'Szoboszlai ideal for Napoli'

Hungary CT Marco Rossi believes RB Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai would be the ‘ideal’ reinforcement for Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli.

Napoli are said to be leading the race to sign Szoboszlai, who has also been linked with the likes of Milan and Arsenal, and Rossi is certain the 19-year-old would flourish under Gattuso.

Rossi: 'Szoboszlai wants Serie A'

RB Salzburg talent Dominik Szoboszlai “received offers from Italy and was likely to go there next season,” confessed Hungary manager Marco Rossi, pointing to Milan, Inter or Lazio.

The midfielder is still only 19 years old, but is a regular for RB Salzburg this term, scoring four goals with seven assists in 29 competitive games.

He also already has eight senior caps for Hungary, scoring once, which puts coach Rossi in an ideal position to discuss his future.

Euro 2020: Lukaku stars for Belgium

Romelu Lukaku starred during Belgium’s 4-0 victory over Scotland in Euro 2020 qualifying, but Marcelo Brozovic and Ante Rebic struggled for Croatia.

Croatia remain top of Group E but saw their lead cut to just one point after a 1-1 draw with Azerbaijan.

Inter midfielder Brozovic contributed with just a 21st-minute booking, while Milan new boy Rebic was substituted with four to go.

Debrecen danger for Torino

Torino start their Europa League campaign against Debrecen and Vilizar Yakimov warns the Granata need a strong home result.

It’s been a rather strange summer for Torino so far. Walter Mazzarri’s men enjoyed a solid campaign last term, as they were even in contention for a Champions League place until the final rounds, but eventually had to wait for Milan’s exclusion by UEFA in order to sneak into the Europa League.

Roma learn Europa League draw

Roma have been drawn the winners of Debrecen-Kukesi in the Europa League second qualifying round.

Roma finished sixth in Serie A last season, meaning they must contest three qualifying rounds before possibly reaching the 2019-20 group stage.

Debrecen ran out third in the Hungarian top flight, while Kukesi finished runners-up in the Albanian Superliga.

The tie will be played across July 25 and August 1, although the Giallorossi may be admitted directly to the groups if Milan withdraw from the competition.

Juve and Lazio swoop for Szoboszlai

Juventus and Lazio are reportedly looking to sign RB Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, facing competition from Bayern Munich and Arsenal.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolò Schira, the two club’s sporting directors Fabio Paratici and Igli Tare are big fans of the Hungarian starlet.

The 18-year-old burst onto the scene in the second half of the season, scoring five times and providing six assists in 20 games – while also impressing in his team’s 3-1 defeat of Napoli in the Europa League Round 16 second leg.

Official: Genoa sign Schafer

Genoa have officially signed Hungarian midfielder Andras Schafer from MTK Budapest, while Lukas Lerager has his medical.

It has been a busy week for the Grifone, who already signed Real Betis striker Antonio Sanabria, Chapecoense goalkeeper Jandrei, Udinese full-back Giuseppe Pezzella and Stefano Sturaro on loan from Juventus.

Schafer’s contract was deposited with the Lega Serie A this afternoon and it is a definitive transfer believed to be worth €1m.

Sanabria and Schafer sign for Genoa

Genoa have signed Antonio Sanabria from Real Betis on loan with €20m option to buy, while Andras Schafer arrives from MTK Budapest.

It has been a busy day for the Grifone, who finalised two deals this evening.

Sanabria arrived this morning to undergo his medical and put pen to paper on the contract.

It’s believed to be an 18-month loan with option to buy for €20m in June 2020.

Genoa go for Hungarian Nagy

Genoa have reportedly approached Legia Warsaw for Hungarian international winger Dominik Nagy.

According to Calciomercato.it, the Grifone are again looking to Poland after the huge success of import Krzysztof Piatek.

Nagy is a 23-year-old forward who plays primarily on the left wing, but can also work on the right or as a support striker.

He moved to Legia Warsaw from Ferencvaros in January 2017 and has contributed four goals with seven assists in 18 Ekstraklasa appearances this season.
