Inter avoid another racism ban

Inter have avoided another ban for racism, despite the FIGC confirming Bologna defender Ibrahima Mbaye was abused by a minority on Sunday.

Mbaye was targeted by a group of Inter ultras during Bologna’s 1-0 Serie A win at San Siro, even though the Senegalese started his career with the Nerazzurri.

However, the FIGC’s sporting judiciary ruled on Tuesday that while the chants were of a racist nature, they were quickly drowned out by other Beneamata supporters, who responded by whistling in disapproval.

Sassuolo ask for Zaza return

Sassuolo are reportedly asking Torino if they can bring Simone Zaza back to the Mapei Stadium.

According to Sportitalia and Sport Mediaset, an approach has been made for the Italy international, who shot to fame at Sassuolo from 2013 to 2015.

He has since moved on to West Ham United – via Juventus – Valencia and joined Torino on loan with €12m option to buy this summer.

Zaza has contributed only one goal and four assists in 18 games for the Granata, between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

Mazzarri: 'Torino had two penalties'

Walter Mazzarri questioned the lack of intervention from VAR over two Torino penalty appeals. “We played on a par with Juventus.”

The Granata were eventually beaten by a Cristiano Ronaldo spot-kick, awarded when Mario Mandzukic pounced on a poor Simone Zaza back-pass and was brought down by Ichazo.

However, when it was still 0-0, Toro had two of their own appeals waved away for a push on Andrea Belotti as he jumped and Alex Sandro manhandling Zaza.
