Manolas back, Koulibaly banned

Kostas Manolas is back in the Napoli squad to face Sassuolo tomorrow, but Kalidou Koulibaly is suspended.

It kicks off on Wednesday at 17.30 GMT, click here for a match preview.

Manolas returns from a long injury lay-off and could well be thrown straight into the starting XI, because Koulibaly sits out a ban following his red card against Benevento.

Hirving Lozano, Victor Osimhen and Andrea Petagna are still out of action.

One-match ban for Koulibaly

The Disciplinary Commission has suspended Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly for one match and fined Benevento coach Filippo Inzaghi.

The Sporting Judge has confirmed the suspensions after Serie A Week 24, with Koulibaly out for one game after the sending off against Benevento.

Charalampos Lykogiannis from Cagliari was sent off against Crotone and will sit out the next game against Bologna.

Benevento’s Federico Barba picked up his fifth yellow and will miss the match against Hellas Verona, with Marten De Roon out when Atalanta host Crotone.

Napoli: ADL meets Sarri’s agent as Bayern open Koulibaly talks

According to Tuttosport, Bayern Munich are interested in signing Kalidou Koulibaly, but the Bavarians don’t want to offer more than €45m.

The Turin-based paper reports De Laurentiis met Fali Ramadani in his offices in Rome earlier this week.

Ramadani is the agent of both Nikola Maksimovic and Kalidou Koulibaly who, according to the report, has attracted the interest of Bayern Munich.

Koulibaly had been linked with moves to Manchester City and United in the past.

Koulibaly ‘coming back to help Napoli’

Kalidou Koulibaly replied to a message from Lorenzo Insigne saying he’s 'coming back to help' Napoli after recovering from COVID. 

The Senegal defender has recovered from COVID and is expected to be available on Sunday when the Azzurri face Atalanta away.

Both him and Faouzi Ghoulam had tested positive for Coronavirus at the beginning of February, but they have now fully recovered.

Ghoulam and Koulibaly free of COVID

Napoli have announced Kalidou Koulibaly and Faouzi Ghoulam have recovered from COVID.

Both defenders had tested positive for Coronavirus on February 5, just hours after their teammate Fabian Ruiz had recovered.

The Partenopei have announced on Twitter both players have now recovered from COVID.

They are likely to be available for Gennaro Gattuso in the Azzurri's next Serie A clash against Atalanta on Sunday.

Napoli: Koulibaly positive for COVID

Napoli have confirmed defender Kalidou Koulibaly has tested positive for coronavirus.

Coach Gennaro Gattuso has lost another fundamental players, as the latest swab tests have revealed the Senegalese defender has COVID-19.

Koulibaly is asymptomatic but placed in isolation.

“After the swabs carried out this morning, Kalidou Koulibaly has tested positive for COVID-19,” the statement read.

“The player is asymptomatic and will observe a period of isolation at his home.”

Kalidou Koulibaly defends Gennaro Gattuso and insists Napoli must believe they are title contenders.
