Chelsea: €40m for Napoli's Koulibaly

Chelsea have reportedly made a huge offer for Kalidou Koulibaly, who refused Napoli's proposed renewal twice.

The player hinted heavily this summer that he would leave, even sparking a measure of conflict with president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, there are now some conditions which could make it in the interest of the Partenopei to sell the defender.

Apparently Chelsea are willing to offer €36m plus €4m in bonuses for the 25-year-old French defender, who would be earning €3m per season.

Chelsea bid €40m for Koulibaly?

Chelsea are prepared to offer €40m to Napoli for Kalidou Koulibaly and quadruple his wages.

Sportitalia claim Antonio Conte is determined to get the defender at Stamford Bridge, especially after the player’s agent opened the door again this week to any potential options.

Napoli have already turned down proposals in the region of €30m, but would probably buckle at €40m.

This deal would also see Koulibaly quadruple his current €1m per season wages.
