Koulibaly leads Napoli renewals

Kalidou Koulibaly’s agent reportedly began contract talks with Napoli yesterday, but the club also want to extend four other players’ deals.

The centre-back’s representative Bruno Satin arrived at Castelvolturno yesterday to begin discussions about an extension to his current deal, according to Il Mattino.

A renewal for Koulibaly is one of the Partenopei’s priorities according to the paper, despite his current deal running until 2019.

Lazio appeal rejected

Lazio saw their appeal against a partial stadium closure rejected after racist chants at Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly.

The FIGC today rejected the appeal put forward by Lazio, who had claimed the insulting chants were not racist in nature.

They occurred during the 2-0 Napoli victory on February 3 at the Stadio Olimpico.

The €50,000 fine and bans locking down the Curva Nord, Distinti Tevere Lato Nord and Distinti Monte Mario Lato Nord sections therefore stand.

Agent: ‘Koulibaly has admirers’

Kalidou Koulibaly’s agent says his client has “admirers”, and thanks Napoli fans for their solidarity.

The defender has become a key part of Maurizio Sarri’s team this season, and his representative admits interest from other clubs is inevitable.

“Kalidou is fixed as a starter, and that’s important,” Bruno Satin said on Radio Crc.

Koulibaly: 'Unforgettable moment'

Kalidou Koulibaly thanked Napoli fans for “an unforgettable moment” as they showed solidarity after he was racially abused.

Their game with Lazio had to be stopped for a few minutes midweek when Lazio supporters repeatedly aimed racist chants at the defender.

The Napoli crowd reacted ahead of today’s 1-0 win over Carpi by holding up pictures of Koulibaly’s face all over the stadium.

Tare: 'Lazio racism ban is right'

Koulibaly masks for Napoli fans

Napoli fans aim to combat racism by wearing Kalidou Koulibaly masks during Sunday’s game against Carpi.

The Partenopei defender was the subject of racist chanting by Lazio supporters in Wednesday night’s 2-0 victory at the Stadio Olimpico.

The referee even had to suspend play for several minutes due to the insults.

Pioli: ‘Bring back real fans’

Lazio fined for racist chants

Lazio’s Curva Nord will be closed for two games and the club has been fined €50,000 for "unequivocally racist" chanting.

Last night’s defeat to Napoli was temporarily suspended after fans directed racist abuse at Kalidou Koulibaly, as well as signing anti-Neapolitan chants.
