Maradona: 'Napoli will sell Higuain'

Diego Maradona believes Napoli will sell Gonzalo Higuain this summer because “he cannot repeat a season like this.”

Higuain has scored 30 goals in just 32 Serie A appearances, almost double the tally of the next top scorer in the League.

“Observing the situation from the outside, I think Higuain will be sold to raise money,” Maradona told TV station Piùenne.

“He cannot repeat a season like this. He scored basically in every match, 30 goals. Knowing (President Aurelio) De Laurentiis, he will sell.

Inter suspended ban for racism

Inter have received a suspended one-match partial stadium ban for racist chants aimed at Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

The incidents occurred on Saturday, but due to a technical problem the Disciplinary Commission only made its ruling today.

“The majority of the circa 6,000 spectators seated in the ‘secondo anello verde’ sector of the stadium aimed an insulting and racially discriminatory chant at the Napoli player wearing No 26,” read the statement.

Ancelotti asks for Koulibaly

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is said to be on Carlo Ancelotti’s wish-list for Bayern Munich next season.

The Senegal international has attracted a lot of attention for his performances at the San Paolo, including from France manager Didier Deschamps, who failed to realise he was ineligible for Les Bleus.

According to Calciomercato.com, Ancelotti has put Koulibaly on his shopping list for when he takes over Bayern Munich this summer.

‘Koulibaly stays for Champions League’

Kalidou Koulibaly’s agent says his client will stay at Napoli as long as they finish at least second.

Napoli: €40m Koulibaly clause

Napoli are planning a new contract for defender Kalidou Koulibaly, with a buy-out clause of €40m.

The 24-year-old has shown marked improvements in his game over the past two years, and President Aurelio De Laurentiis is thinking of adjusting his salary.

According to CalcioNapoli24, a new contract is being drafted for Koulibaly that will see his payments increased from €800,000 per season to €1.6m.

In addition, and in response to increased international attention, the contract will include a buy-out clause of €40m.

Manchester United and Bayern Munich are among clubs tracking Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the defender is in negotiations to extend the current contract which expires in June 2019.
