Report: Strootman will return to Marseille

Kevin Strootman will reportedly not remain at Genoa and seems set for a return to Olympique Marseille after the current season.

Le10Sport reports the former Roma midfielder will return to Marseille after the season and must then find a solution with the Ligue 1 side.

Strootman arrived at Genoa in January and has played 10 games in Serie A, with the Gfirone placed at 17th in his first game against Atalanta.

De Boer includes four Serie A players in Holland squad

The Netherlands CT Frank de Boer has called up four Serie A players for the upcoming international break.

The Oranje are preparing for games against Turkey, Latvia and Gibraltar in the World Cup qualifying this month.

The first match, against Turkey, is played on March 24 and four players from the Italian League are included in the Holland squad.

Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt has been called up, joined by Inter centre-back Stefan de Vrij.

Roma welcome Strootman back to Italy

Roma welcomed former midfielder Kevin Strootman back to Serie A, after the 30-year-old signed with Genoa.

Strootman has moved on loan to the Rossoblu for the remainder of the campaign and the Giallorossi posted a video to welcome their former player back to Italy.

The Dutch midfielder spent five seasons with La Lupa between 2013 and 2018, before he moved to Olympique Marseille.

Strootman: 'I'm ready to help Genoa'

Kevin Strootman has vowed he’s ‘ready to help’ Genoa after his return to Serie A from Marseille.

The Dutch international has moved on loan for the rest of the season and was introduced at the Centro Sportivo Signorini.

“I’m fine. I have always trained, even if I didn’t play much in the last year,” Strootman said at a press conference.

“I must probably find the rhythm again. I’m fine physically and I’m ready to play.”

Official: Strootman joins Genoa

Genoa have officially signed Kevin Strootman on loan from Olympique Marseille until the end of the season.

The Dutch international had already played in Serie A for Roma before his 2018 move to France.

He flew in on Tuesday evening, had his medical yesterday and signed the six-month contract today.

A statement from Genoa noted Strootman has already undergone his first training session with his new teammates.

Strootman: 'Jumped at Genoa opportunity'

Kevin Strootman ‘jumped at the opportunity’ to join Genoa and return to Serie A on loan from Olympique Marseille. ‘I am very happy to be back in Italy.’

The former Roma midfielder arrived at the airport this afternoon and will have his medical tomorrow.

“I am very happy to be back in Italy. I enjoyed my five years here, I went to France, but I jumped at this opportunity,” Strootman told Sky Sport Italia.

Strootman arrives for Genoa medical

Kevin Strootman has arrived for his Genoa medical to complete the loan move from Olympique Marseille.

It is a return to Serie A for the former Roma midfielder, who left the Stadio Olimpico in 2018 and will turn 31 next month.

The Dutch international posed at the airport with a Genoa scarf.

This will be a six-month loan without option to buy and Marseille are due to pay half his salary.

The Grifone are currently two points off the relegation zone in Serie A, after three wins, five draws and nine defeats.

Strootman’s Genoa move stalls

Kevin Strootman’s loan move to Genoa is stalling with Marseille boss André Villas-Boas who said the Ligue 1 giants are ‘waiting for documents’ to complete the deal.

The former Roma midfielder was expected to undergo his medical tests with the Grifone today, but the player hasn’t arrived in Genoa yet.

His loan move to the Luigi Ferraris, however, seems not in danger of collapsing.
