Official: Dodo leaves Samp

Brazilian full-back Dodo has left Sampdoria to join Santos on loan for the rest of the year.

The deal was confirmed in a statement on Santos’ official website, while Lancenet claims the Peixe have a €1.5m option to buy at the end of the loan.

The 26-year-old has been in Italy since 2012, playing for Roma, Inter and most recently Samp.

However, he leaves the Blucerchiati after failing to make a first-team appearance this season and will now acquaint himself with Gabriel Barbosa, who recently returned to Santos from Inter.

Quagliarella has Samp ambitions

Fabio Quagliarella has big ambitions for Sampdoria and his own Capocannoniere chances this season. “It doesn’t hurt to try.”

The Blucerchiati were beaten 1-0 by Milan at the weekend and caught in joint sixth place, but remain in the hunt for a European spot.

“There’s a long way to go this season and we have to focus on our path, understanding what we got wrong against Milan. I still think we can fight them all the way,” Quagliagol told RMC Sport.

Serie A Team of Week 25

As the top two continue to break away, but European and relegation battles hot up, Marcello Cossali-Francis picks his best XI from Week 25.

Emiliano Viviano (Sampdoria)

Had it not been for Viviano, Milan would have had more than just the one goal in this match. Made a brilliant penalty save from Ricardo Rodriguez down to his left, which ultimately kept the away side in the game. Could have done better perhaps for Milan’s goal, but more than made up for it with the rest of his performance.

Dodo passes Santos medical

Dodo is ready to sign for Santos, on loan from Sampdoria, after passing a medical in Brazil.

The Blucerchiati will not pocket any cash from the loan deal, but Santos will cover his wages until the end of the season.

It is reported in UOL.com that the left-back accepted a pay cut to help the move go through.

The transfer has been ready for some time, but was delayed by extensive medical tests and haggling over the option to buy.

It’s believed they eventually settled on €1.5m.

“We are just at the start and have to improve,” Rosetti told Radio Anch’Io Sport.

“The project is continuing in a very positive way. There were two offside incidents yesterday and they were both read in an accurate fashion.
