Lotito: Rejected ‘obscene’ SMS offer

Lazio owner Claudio Lotito claims he rejected an ‘obscene’ bid for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as ‘I made a pact with Simone Inzaghi that I wouldn’t sell him’.

Milinkovic-Savic was one of the most sought-after players of the summer transfer window, but the midfielder ultimately stayed at Lazio and Lotito asserted he was the only Serie A President who would have turned down such an offer.

“I made a pact with the Coach that I wouldn’t sell him over the summer,” he told Il Tempo.

Lotito: 'Lazio a model club'

Lazio President Claudio Lotito insists they have “achieved objectives that in the past were beyond hope, are self-sustainable and a model club.”

The Biancocelesti narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification last season, losing to Inter in the final minutes.

“Lazio achieved certain objectives that in the past were beyond hope,” the President told Il Messaggero newspaper.

Lotito offers Lucas Lazio extension

Lazio President Claudio Lotito is reportedly offering a new contract to Lucas Leiva, as well as a potential role within he club when he retires.

The midfielder joined the Biancocelesti from Liverpool last summer, but there was speculation just last month that he’d already be given a new deal.

According to today’s edition of Il Messaggero, the Aquile captain is personally ready to extend Lucas’ contract, and also has a role within the club in mind for him after his retirement.

Inzaghi: ‘Juve-Napoli for Scudetto’

Lazio Coach Simone Inzaghi believes Juventus and Napoli will battle for the Scudetto again - “they are two great teams coached by two excellent Coaches”.

The Biancocelesti faced both in the opening two rounds of the season, losing first in Rome and then in Turin.

“Having faced them I think they will play the same role as last season,” Inzaghi admitted on Rai Radio.

“They are two great teams coached by two excellent Coaches in [Max] Allegri and [Carlo] Ancelotti.
