Inzaghi hits back at Lotito & Klose

Simone Inzaghi tells Claudio Lotito “my work is there for all to see” and is out to “defy” Miroslav Klose after he doubted Lazio’s top-four hopes.

Lotito warned Lazio had to “repay” their larger salary bill and that Inzaghi had to achieve “better results”, despite the Coach delivering a Coppa Italia last season.

Lazio fury at UEFA racism punishment

Lazio released a statement protesting the “deeply damaging” UEFA punishment for racist chanting against Stade Rennais, but the verdict hasn’t been announced yet.

The Biancocelesti were at risk of a partial stadium closure in the Europa League due to past offences and the tone of the club response seems to suggest that’s what has happened.

Lotito: 'Lazio players, be more like me!'

President Claudio Lotito lambasted his Lazio squad and Coach Simone Inzaghi, warning they must “repay” the larger salary bill. “If I was on the pitch, we’d get better results.”

The patron did not hold back in an interview with the Corriere dello Sport, making it clear he won’t be blamed by fans for poor results.

“After Juventus, Lazio are the club that has won the most in the last eight years. Fiorentina won nothing, Napoli had less than us,” insisted Lotito.

Lotito: 'Lazio lost because of De Vrij'

President Claudio Lotito claims Lazio “lost the game because of Stefan de Vrij” and he should’ve forced the defender not to play against Inter in May 2018.

The centre-back allowed his contract to run down and had already signed for Inter when he played in the final game of the 2017-18 season.

It was a head-to-head for a Champions League place and Inter won 3-2 at the Stadio Olimpico.

Zeman: This Roma belongs to no-one!

Zdenek Zeman has claimed that this Roma side belongs to ‘no-one’ and also hit out at Lazio for their lack of ambition.

Roma lost Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi over the summer, and Zeman feels his former club no long have an identity, pointing the figure at “whereabouts unknown” President James Pallotta.

“I think they will [return], but there must be the right conditions,” he told Il Messaggero.

“Francesco had to say ‘enough’ because they only used him for advertising purposes.

Lotito: 'Zero tolerance on racism'

Lazio President Claudio Lotito announced a “zero tolerance” policy against racism in the stands. “We’re tired of our image being dragged through the mud.”

The club has long struggled with a hard-right faction in its fanbase and this week UEFA announced it was opening an investigation into racist chants and Fascist gestures during the Europa League win over Rennes.

“Enough is enough, we are into a zero tolerance policy from now on,” said President Lotito.

Lazio: Lotito comments 'manipulated'

Lazio say that while Claudio Lotito used an ‘inappropriate’ term to describe white skin as ‘normal’, its impact has been ‘manipulated’ by the Press.

Lotito sparked controversy yesterday with his suggestion that jeers were not always racist, explaining how they were once used against people with “normal, white skin”.

Lotito: Jeers not always racist

Lazio chief Claudio Lotito insists jeers are not always racist as he remembers when they were used against “people who had normal, white skin.”

Jeers in the form of monkey chants have seen several black players suffer racial abuse from fans in Serie A this season, and Lotito - a councillor for the League - did not help matters with a controversial take on the situation.

“The whistles don’t always correspond to a discriminatory or racist act,” he told ANSA.

Lotito: 'Lazio can beat anyone'

Lazio President Claudio Lotito maintains his team “can fight it out with everyone, it’s just about proving it on the pitch.”

The Biancocelesti won the Coppa Italia and therefore participate in the Europa League again this season.

“I hope the team can express its full potential,” Lotito told Tuttomercatoweb.

“We can fight it out with everyone, it’s just about proving it on the pitch. We deserved more than a draw in the derby with Roma, but things don’t always go the well they need to in football.”

Lazio building towards success

The Biancocelesti consistently seem to be on the verge of greatness, but Sam Wilson feels it's an exciting time to be a Lazio fan.

Arguably, very few sides have been closer to deserving a place in the Champions League over the past few seasons than Lazio. In the 2017-18 season, the club missed out on fourth spot after a devastating loss to Inter on the final day of the season, whilst the last campaign ended in a bittersweet manner, finishing eighth in Serie A whilst lifting the Coppa Italia trophy.
