Juanfran on Roma radar

Roma are attempting to prise Juanfran away from Atletico Madrid in January, as his contract is due to expire this summer.

There are issues at right-back for the Giallorossi, as Rick Karsdorp has been injured practically since the moment he arrived, with Bruno Peres unconvincing, leaving only Alessandro Florenzi.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, director of sport Monchi has set his sights on Juanfran as a January addition to the squad.

Atleti ‘block Vrsaljko exit’

Atletico Madrid have reportedly made Serie A target Sime Vrsaljko unavailable for transfer.

Vrsaljko was heavily linked with January moves to Napoli and Juventus, but Calciomercato.com claims Atleti boss Diego Simeone and sporting director Andrea Berta have been convinced into keeping the right-back.

The 25-year-old had struggled for form and fitness in the Spanish capital, but he has gone on to start Los Colchoneros’ last three League games.

Vrsaljko is no stranger to Serie A, having previously played for Genoa and Sassuolo.

Napoli offer €22m for Vrsaljko

Napoli are reportedly offering €22m for Sime Vrsaljko, but Atletico Madrid continue to stall.

The Partenopei want to sign the defender in January, but President Aurelio De Laurentiis has admitted the Spanish club don’t want to sell in January.

According to Il Mattino, the offer on the table is €22m, with Vrsaljko being offered a four year contract worth around €2.8m per season.

His agent, Giuseppe Riso, has given the OK to the deal but Atleti are still not keen to sell in the winter transfer window.

'Vrsaljko staying at Atletico Madrid'

President Enrique Cerezo expects Napoli, Juventus and Inter transfer target Sime Vrsaljko “to be an Atletico Madrid player in 2018 too.”

The full-back is struggling for playing time at the Wanda Metropolitano and repeatedly linked with a move back to Serie A, where he already represented Genoa and Sassuolo.

“Vrsaljko is an Atletico Madrid player and I expect him to remain an Atletico Madrid player in 2018 too,” Cerezo told Radio CRC.

Benfica demand €20m for Grimaldo

Napoli reportedly offered €20m for Sime Vrsaljko, but Atletico Madrid want €25m and already rejected a proposal from Liverpool.

The former Sassuolo full-back is one of the hottest properties on the January transfer market and isn’t getting enough playing time with the Colchoneros.

According to Rai Sport, Napoli have formulated their latest offer of €18m plus another €2m in bonuses, but that’s still a long way off the €25m asking price.

Juventus target Lichtsteiner replacement

Juventus are reportedly considering Matteo Darmian, Sime Vrsaljko or Thomas Meunier to replace Stephan Lichtsteiner.

The Swiss defender is likely to leave the Bianconeri at the end of the season, as it’s not expected he’ll be offered a new contract.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Turin club have identified three possible replacements for Lichtsteiner.

It’s reported Sime Vrsaljko has made it clear he’s willing to move to Napoli, who will offer €20m to Atletico Madrid.
