Capello: 'Who knows if Milan are right?'

Former Milan coach Fabio Capello claims ‘many clubs will suffer’ playing in empty stadiums when Serie A resumes and points out the current 'lack of continuity' at the Rossoneri.

Capello brought home four Scudetti during his time with the Diavolo, including the invincible season in 1991-92, and is not sure if his former employer are doing the right thing by planning to start again with only foreigners at the helm.

Giampaolo set for Torino job

Ex-Milan coach Marco Giampaolo is the hot favourite to take over at Torino from next season, as Moreno Longo won’t be confirmed on the bench.

According to Tuttosport, Giampaolo has agreed in principle to accept the job, although due to the Serie A rules, he cannot be signed to more than one club in a single season.

Having been fired by Milan on October 8 after just seven Serie A games, it means he’ll have to wait until 2020-21.

Torino looking at Giampaolo

Torino are looking to Marco Giampaolo or Leonardo Semplici to be their coach next season, with Moreno Longo unlikely to remain.

Longo was only brought in on February 4 to replace Walter Mazzarri, but lost all three matches in charge before the shutdown.

According to Tuttosport, the new favourite to lead the way next term is former Milan coach Giampaolo.

He was fired just seven matches into the current campaign, so has been out of work since October 8.

Maldini: 'I never thought about leaving'

Milan technical director Paolo Maldini claims he ‘never thought about leaving’ the Rossoneri and insists the championship must be concluded.

Since former sporting director Zvonimir Boban lost his job at Milanello, rumours have predicted the former defender to follow him out the door.

CEO Ivan Gazidis seems eager to make big changes in the organisation, but Maldini enjoys his role at the club and doesn't want to leave.

'Milan set Giampaolo up to fail'

Marco Giampaolo’s brother has claimed that Milan set him up to fail. “They didn’t build him a team compatible with his characteristics.”

The former Sampdoria boss was sacked just four months into his Milan tenure last October, winning three of his seven Serie A games.

“Marco deservedly went to Milan, but they didn’t build him a team compatible with his characteristics,” Federico Giampaolo told Calciomercato.com.

Giampaolo to save Milan €4m?

Marco Giampaolo will save Milan €4m if he becomes Fenerbahce’s next coach, it is reported.

Links between Giampaolo and Fener have intensified today, and Tuttosport claims Milan are keeping a close eye on negotiations.

That is because, as per the newspaper, the Rossoneri would be able to write off the coach’s contract if he is appointed by the Turkish club.

Although the 52-year-old was sacked by the Diavolo back in October, he remains on their payroll.

Giampaolo the next Italian in Turkey?

Marco Giampaolo will become only the seventh Italian coach to work in Turkey if he is named Fenerbahce’s next boss.

Giampaolo was sacked by Milan earlier last October, and the Serie A policy limiting coaches to one club per season has prevented him from returning to an Italian bench in 2019-20.

Now, reports in Turkey and Italy claim Fener want the unemployed 52-year-old to fill their managerial vacancy.

Milan need patience with Paqueta

Serie A has seen precious little of the talent that made Lucas Paqueta such a big signing for Milan, but Vijay Rahaman warns selling now would be a huge mistake.

In recent times rumours have been rife about the future of Milan player Lucas Paqueta. The Brazilian has been linked with the likes of Benfica, PSG and during the January transfer window, a swap with Juventus with Federico Bernardeschi going the other way was even muted. However, what is really needed by the Rossoneri power brokers is for them to be patient with the playmaker.
