Bernd Leno and Rui Patricio were their initial targets, but in recent weeks they’ve been increasingly linked with Sirigu.

Now Tuttomercatoweb is reporting that there is an agreement in principle on a three-year deal with the Italian international.

Sirigu set for long Toro stay

Goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu is set for a long stay at Torino, according to President Urbano Cairo.

Sirigu replaced Joe Hart as Torino’s No 1 on a two-year contract last summer and has gone on to keep 10 clean sheets in 35 Serie A appearances, although the former Italy custodian could do little about the Granata’s last two defeats to Atalanta and Lazio.

“We’re not at our best physically: we’ve had several injuries and I think that’s been the problem,” Cairo said after Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to the latter.

Sirigu: ‘PSG disrespected me’

Torino goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu felt disrespected by Paris Saint-Germain, and reveals he lost two friends in the Bataclan attack.

The Italian international spent five seasons in France, but he made just three Ligue 1 appearances in 2015-16 before being loaned out the following season.

“I’d have thought after so many years they could have talked to me about the termination with a director with whom I’d shared something, not a sporting director I didn’t even know,” Sirigu lamented, speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport.
