Lazio exit looms for Morrison?

Ravel Morrison has reportedly left Lazio's training ground and flown back to England for personal reasons after facing the bench again.

The Biancocelesti face Dnipro in the Europa League this evening, the only competition in which the Englishman has been handed a start so far this season.

Calciomercato.it writes today that Coach Stefano Pioli had decided to leave out the 22-year-old and that he then left the club’s Formello training ground to fly back to England, with ‘personal reasons’ being cited.

Pioli: ‘Lazio must improve’

Lazio Coach Stefano Pioli wants to see improvement from his side - “we want to get out of this situation”.

The Biancocelesti haven’t won in four Serie A games, with three of those ending in defeat, and the squad was placed into ritiro this week.

“We can do more,” Pioli admitted in his Press conference ahead of the Europa League match with Dnipro.

Lazio look to Lippi

Francesco Guidolin denies talks with Lazio to replace Stefano Pioli, but Marcello Lippi is up for consideration.

The Aquile are struggling this season and the team was placed into a training retreat after one point from four Serie A games.

There had been reports this morning that Guidolin was the favourite to take over if Pioli fails to turn things around.

Guidolin up for Lazio job?

Francesco Guidolin is touted as the favourite to take over if Lazio give Stefano Pioli the sack.

The team was placed in an indefinite training retreat after scraping one point from four Serie A games.

Pioli was also reportedly in a crisis meeting with director of sport Ighli Tare yesterday.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, if Lazio do decide to wield the axe, Guidolin is being lined up for the job.

Crisis summit at Lazio

Crisis talks were held between the Lazio hierarchy, Coach Stefano Pioli and the players this morning, with the Biancocelesti heading into ritiro.

The Aquile were held to a 1-1 draw by Palermo this weekend, a result which leaves them eighth in Serie A, nine points away from the Champions League places.

LaLazioSiamoNoi reports that President Claudio Lotito has placed the team into ritiro, meaning that they cannot leave the training ground before Thursday’s Europa League clash with Dnipro.

Pioli: 'Lazio not satisfied'

Stefano Pioli admits Lazio “cannot be satisfied” with their form, position or 1-1 draw with Palermo.

The Aquile had lost three Serie A games in a row before this stalemate on home turf.

“This is how we must react to adversity. We are all unhappy with our position in the table and also with today’s results. We cannot be satisfied,” Pioli told Sky Sport Italia.

Tare: ‘Tagliavento unapologetic’

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare criticises Rome Derby referee Paolo Tagliavento, but says ‘we can return to the standards of last season’.

Tagliavento gave a penalty to Roma early on in Sunday’s Derby from a tackle that replays showed was clearly made outside of the box, helping the Giallorossi to a 2-0 win.

Tare mentioned that he approached the referee following the match and spoke of a lack of ‘grit and determination’ from the Aquile.

Pioli: 'There was no penalty!'

Stefano Pioli says Roma's victory over Lazio comes down to an 'inexistent' penalty and 'their own mistake' on Gervinho.

The Giallorossi finished their city rivals 2-0 today, but many felt the first penalty awarded to Edin Dzeko was generous.
