Kovacic could return to Inter

Mateo Kovacic will reportedly return to Inter after the Chelsea loan spell ended, as there’s no room for him at Real Madrid.

The midfielder spent this season on loan at Stamford Bridge and made 51 competitive appearances, contributing two assists.

Nonetheless, Chelsea are not expected to take up their option to buy the Croatia international, while Real Madrid cannot guarantee playing time.

According to Tuttosport, Inter are ready to take advantage of the situation and bring Kovacic back to San Siro, the club he left in 2015.

Inter seek Kovacic reunion

New Inter Coach Antonio Conte wants to bring Mateo Kovacic back to San Siro from Real Madrid after his Chelsea loan, according to Tuttosport.

It would be a reunion, because the Croatia international midfielder left Dinamo Zagreb for Inter in a deal worth €11m back in January 2013.

He was sold to Real Madrid for €38m in 2015 and last summer was loaned to Chelsea.

It doesn’t look as if the Stamford Bridge side will make the loan move permanent, so Tuttosport newspaper suggests Conte wants him at San Siro.

Report: Inter push for Barella

Inter are reportedly pushing on with plans to sign Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.

According to Sport Mediaset, Inter are ready to see out their long-standing interest in Barella.

However, the Nerazzurri would prefer to send one or two players the other way as opposed to meeting Cagliari’s asking price of 45-50m.

Nonetheless, the broadcaster highlights the ‘good relationship’ between Beppe Marotta and Sardinians President Tommaso Giulini.

'Inter could've signed Gabriel Jesus...'

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio reveals his club almost signed Gabriel Jesus. “Our offer was better than Manchester City’s.”

Gabriel Jesus was regularly compared to Gabriel Barbosa when the pair were climbing the ranks in Brazilian football, yet the former has flourished for City since arriving from Palmeiras in January 2017, whereas Gabigol recently left Inter for a second spell back home.

“We were negotiating with Gabriel Jesus for a month,” Ausilio told Sky Sport Italia.

Inter want Kovacic return

Inter are reportedly considering a return for Mateo Kovavic, as an alternative to Luka Modric.

The midfielder left the Nerazzurri in 2015 to join Real Madrid, but this season he’s been loaned out to Chelsea.

There is no option to buy included in that deal though, and Tuttosport believes Inter are weighing up the possibility of bringing Kovacic back.

Sporting director Piero Ausilio has been trying to sign a creative midfielder for some time, and tried to sign Luka Modric in the summer.

Roma tried for Llorente

Roma director Monchi tried to sign Marcos Llorente from Real Madrid right up to the transfer deadline, claims As.

The 23-year-old midfielder can also play at centre-back when needed and struggled for playing time last season, given only 20 competitive appearances, most of them off the bench.

He also played in the International Champions Cup match against Roma in July.

According to Spanish paper As, director of sport Monchi attempted repeatedly to negotiate a loan or even permanent transfer right up to the deadline.
