Report: Besiktas push for Mandzukic

Besiktas are reportedly pushing to sign Mario Mandzukic this month, but Juventus are determined to keep the striker.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Besiktas have revived their interest in Mandzukic, following on from Domagoj Vida’s pleas for his fellow Croatian to join him in Istanbul.

However, the website warns Juve’s response “was still negative” when they were approached by the Turkish champions.

Coppa: Juve beat Toro amid controversy

Juventus beat Torino 2-0 with Douglas Costa and a very controversial Mario Mandzukic goal to set up a Coppa Italia Semi-Final with Atalanta.

The other showdown for the Final will be between Milan and Lazio on January 31 and February 28.

Both sides had numerous injury problems, as Gigi Buffon, Mattia De Sciglio, Benedikt Howedes and Juan Cuadrado missed out for the hosts, who used Mario Mandzukic as a centre-forward. Toro had to do without Andrea Belotti, Adem Ljajic, Cristian Ansaldi, Lyanco, Antonio Barreca and Simone Edera.

‘Mandzukic, come to Besiktas!’

Besiktas new boy Domagoj Vida has called on Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic to join him in Turkey.

Vida and Mandzukic are international teammates for Croatia, and the defender singled out the 30-year-old as someone he wanted to play with at Besiktas, having recently arrived from Dynamo Kiev.

“I’m not on social media, but some of my friends have published my ‘Come to Besiktas’ video,” he said at a Press conference.

“Perhaps I’ll say ‘Come to Besiktas’ to Mandzukic as well!”

Allegri: 'Not a good Juve game'

Max Allegri gave Paulo Dybala advice after his brace against Verona, but “we all know it was not a good Juventus performance.”

Blaise Matuidi had given them the lead at the Bentegodi after just six minutes, but Martin Caceres equalised from distance and Dybala then scored twice in five minutes for the 3-1 result.

Allegri: ‘Dybala likely to play’

Juventus Coach Max Allegri says it’s “likely” Paulo Dybala will play against Verona, but says comparisons “should never have been made” to Lionel Messi.

The Argentine forward has been benched for the past three Serie A games, but he could be brought back into the fold for tomorrow’s trip to the Bentegodi.

“No-one needs to rest because the lads have worked well in the last week,” Allegri assured in his pre-match Press conference.

Roma Coach Eusebio Di Francesco dismisses a controversial front page - “I don’t have to respond to Tuttosport…”

The Turin sports daily’s front page today showed Medhi Benatia, Miralem Pjanic and Wojciech Szczesny, with the headline “From losing Romans to winning Juventini”.

Dybala to start against Roma?

It’s reported Paulo Dybala will retain his place in the Juventus side for Saturday’s Roma game, but Gigi Buffon and Mattia De Sciglio won’t make it.

The Argentinian forward was dropped for the games with Inter and Bologna, but returned to the starting XI for the Coppa Italia tie with Genoa yesterday.

La Joya scored in the match, as well as providing an assist for Gonzalo Higuain, and Premium Sport reports he’ll keep his place against the Giallorossi.

Allegri: ‘Dybala plays tomorrow’

Max Allegri confirms Paulo Dybala will play for Juventus against Genoa, but it’s “difficult” for Mario Mandzukic and Mattia De Sciglio to recover for Roma.

The Bianconeri face the Grifone in the Coppa Italia tomorrow, but their squad has been devastated by injuries.

With a clash with the capital club to come at the weekend, the Coach began his Press conference by talking about two of the injured players.

“These are two difficult recoveries, both for De Sciglio and Mandzukic,” Allegri admitted.
