Bobic: 'Eintracht eager to keep Silva'

Eintracht Frankfurt director Fredi Bobic confirms they ‘want to keep Andre Silva’ beyond the two-season loan, but not necessarily tied to Ante Rebic’s fate with Milan.

The two strikers swapped places in a two-year loan deal with minutes to spare in the transfer deadline, which is why they did not have time to agree on purchase options or figures.

Milan make Jovic offer

Milan are offering €35m plus bonuses to sign Luka Jovic from Real Madrid, claim Italian sources, reuniting him with Ante Rebic.

According to Sport Mediaset, a proposal worth €35m plus bonuses has been prepared for the summer.

The forward only left Eintracht Frankfurt for €60m almost a year ago, but struggled for playing time with two goals and two assists in 24 competitive games.

He formed a spectacular partnership with Rebic in Frankfurt and could be reunited with his old teammate at San Siro.

Rebic: 'Waited for my Milan chance'

Ante Rebic was just “waiting for the opportunity to prove myself” at Milan and explains the importance of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but cannot say what the future holds.

His two-season loan in exchange for Andre Silva to Eintracht Frankfurt seemed destined to be cut short in January, as he had only a handful of substitute appearances.

However, since coach Stefano Pioli took over and transformed their tactics, along with the arrival of Ibrahimovic, the Croatia international has gone from strength to strength thanks to seven goals in all competition.

Milan loanee André Silva enjoys his time at Eintracht Frankfurt and seems to be open for a permanent move to the Bundesliga side.

Silva was part of an exchange deal to bring Ante Rebic to Milan last summer when he moved on a two-year loan deal with Die Adler.

Numbers favour Pioli to stay?

Milan coach Stefano Pioli will, according to Tuttosport, have the support of several players wanting him to stay at San Siro.

The Spanish winger Samu Castillejo claimed that the Rossoneri players “want Pioli to stay” in charge beyond the current campaign, after having seen improvement in both performances and results.

When Pioli replaced Marco Giampaolo after seven rounds, he signed a deal until June 2021 but reports regarding big changes at Milanello have sparked rumours also about the future of the head coach.

Can Milan keep the stars?

The proposed change of hierarchy at Milan has led to speculation regarding the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gigio Donnarumma, Ante Rebic and Simon Kjaer.

The former Sweden international returned to San Siro during the winter and helped Stefano Pioli lift the mood in the camp and spur the team to go on a great run after the winter break.

His contract expires in June but includes an option to extend for another year with the Rossoneri and CEO Ivan Gazidis has already voiced his great impression of the 38-year-old.

Milan must pay €40m for Rebic

Eintracht Frankfurt have reportedly asked Milan for €40m in order to purchase Ante Rebic, with up to €20m of that going to Fiorentina.

The attacking winger arrived on a two-year loan in exchange for Andre Silva going the other way on transfer deadline day, so there was no time to work out purchase options.

After barely seeing the pitch during the first half of the season, Rebic has become unmissable for new coach Stefano Pioli in the 4-4-2 formation.

Rebic right for new-look Rossoneri

Ante Rebic went from Milan benchwarmer to decisive goal-scorer, as Kaustubh Pandey analyses what changed around the Bullish Croatian.

Ante Rebic’s goal against Fiorentina wasn’t the prettiest of all. But it worked, like it has so far this season. The manner of it was hardly surprising, as the man has made a career out of dirty goals. But this one coming against his former club was meant to be and it was proof that the Croatian is proving critics wrong this season.
