Zamp: ‘I won’t sack Iachini’

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini won’t sack Beppe Iachini again “even if we lose on Sunday”.

The fiery Rosanero patron dismissed Iachini earlier in the season - despite a 1-0 win over Chievo in his last game - and no fewer than five men held the position before he was recalled.

Iachini: 'Palermo poor finishing'

Beppe Iachini concedes Palermo “were lacking something in our finishing” after a 0-0 draw with Bologna.

The Rosanero picked up a point, which has to be seen as an improvement on last week’s 5-0 defeat to Roma.

“Both teams tried to win the game. We did well in the first half, but tried to push things too much and unfortunately were lacking something in our finishing,” the Coach told Rai Sport.

Zamp: ‘Iachini can save Palermo’

President Maurizio Zamparini says Beppe Iachini can "99 per cent" keep Palermo in Serie A.

The Coach was dismissed earlier in the season, but has been brought back to the Rosanero bench after a number of changes in the dugout.

“Despite sacking him, I was always fond of him,” Zamparini told La Repubblica.

“I recalled him because he has a 99 per cent chance of saving us. When I sacked him, in the last eight games he had six losses, a win and a draw.

Iachini: 'Palermo have changed'

Beppe Iachini admits Palermo “have changed” in the last three months after a 5-0 defeat to Roma on his comeback.

The Coach was sacked in November, replaced by a series of tacticians until his recall this week.

“We knew that there was a lot of work to be done after my return and situations to resolve,” Iachini told Rai Sport.

“We must continue working to find the confidence and the mechanisms that perhaps some players have lost over time.

Zamparini: ‘I ask forgiveness…’

Maurizio Zamparini has ‘asked forgiveness’ to Palermo fans for ‘a month of chaos’ after Beppe Iachini’s return.

The Coach’s re-hiring was announced this morning only three months after his initial sacking, with four other tacticians having sat on the bench in the interim period.

The fiery Zamparini, who has forged a reputation for his trigger-happy attitude to sackings, made the uncharacteristic move of apologising for what has been a tumultuous period even by the Sicilians’ standards.

Palermo to recall Iachini?

Palermo could incredibly change Coach yet again, firing Giovanni Bosi after one game to recall Beppe Iachini.

It has been a ridiculous campaign even by the Sicilians’ standards and it is set to take another twist.

Bosi, the Primavera youth team Coach, was promoted to the main job on Thursday after Guillermo Barros Schelotto walked out because he couldn’t get a work permit.

His debut was a 3-1 home defeat to Torino, which reportedly infuriated President Maurizio Zamparini.

Zamparini: 'Iachini wanted sack'

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini claims Beppe Iachini “wanted to get fired for Sampdoria.”

The fiery patron had a typically forthright Press conference today.

“Beppe had a deal with Massimo Ferrero for a while, it’s just that he didn’t tell me. If he’d just said he wanted to go to Sampdoria, I would’ve let him go straight away.

“I had Roberto Donadoni and Francesco Guidolin free, I could’ve got one of them. At a certain point, Beppe called the Press and not me.
