Percassi: 'We could renew with Gasperini'

Atalanta President Antonio Percassi said Gian Piero Gasperini could ‘renew his contract’ at the Gewiss Stadium and vowed to ‘try to improve the team’.

La Dea have qualified for the Champions League for the third consecutive season and prepare for the Coppa Italia Final against Juventus on Wednesday.

Percassi reassured fans that Gasperini will continue at the helm and revealed he could extend beyond the current deal until June 2022.

Gasperini: 'Now Atalanta want the Coppa'

Gian Piero Gasperini admits Atalanta ‘ground to a halt’ in the second half of a 4-3 win away to Genoa, but next they want to beat Juventus in the Coppa Italia Final.

They needed a victory to be sure of Champions League football for the third year running and did the job at Marassi.

“It was tough to believe we’d do it three years in a row, especially this season, as it gets more difficult to keep repeating yourself,” Gasperini told Sky Sport Italia.

Gian Piero Gasperini said he didn't expect a 'clear-cut' Milan win over Juventus and claimed Atalanta are only focused on Benevento.

Atalanta: Gasperini escapes ban

Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini has escaped a three-week ban and will be on the bench against Milan and Juventus.

The Atalanta coach had insulted an anti-doping inspector during a surprise visit. He risked a ban up to six months and if he had been found guilty, he would have been prevented from taking any training session during the week.

Gasperini reportedly insulted an inspector during a surprise check and railed against the entire anti-doping system, interrupting an ongoing test on an Atalanta player and forcing the player to go to train.

No sanctions for Paratici after Udinese

Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has not been sanctioned by the Sporting Judge after the protests at the end of the match against Udinese.

The Friuli technical director Pierpaolo Marino spoke of Paratici’s protests against the referee at the end of the first half, due to the lack of stoppages.
