EDF: 'Roma injuries piled up'

Eusebio Di Francesco blamed injuries and poor fitness levels for Roma’s 1-1 draw with Inter and shrugged off Edin Dzeko questions.

“We put in a very good performance for 65-70 minutes. The team then lost intensity, I had few midfield options, there were cramps all over the place and that forced my hand,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

EDF: ‘Roma could change shape’

Roma Coach Eusebio Di Francesco says he could “soon switch to 4-2-3-1” as tacticians shouldn’t be “fundamentalists”.

The former Sassuolo boss is known for favouring a 4-3-3, but there have been complaints from sections of the Giallorossi support that he’s too inflexible.

“A coach must be able to convey his ideas and make the player understand that it’s the best choice for him and for the group,” Di Francesco explained at the FIGC-USSI seminar.

Roma can turn this around

There’s no reason for panic in the Giallorossi camp, as Vilizar Yakimov feels some minor changes can save their season.

A turbulent summer saw Roma losing some of their most valuable players, as Mohamed Salah, Antonio Rudiger and Leandro Paredes all left the Capital club and moved abroad. Add to that the retirement of the iconic Francesco Totti and you can easily see why even the most optimistic tifosi were not fancying Roma’s chances at the start of the season.
