Miranda ready for Roma

It’s reported that Inter centre-back Joao Miranda will be fit to face Roma on Sunday night.

The Brazilian has been suffering with a calf injury, and had to be substituted 10 minutes before the end of the loss to Sassuolo on December 23.

Miranda was desperate to return after the international break, however, and he gave up his holiday to work on his fitness.

Now Premium Sport is reporting that the defender will be available to face the Giallorossi at San Siro on Sunday night.

Is Lisandro right for Inter?

Inter always did have a special bond with Argentina and hope Lisandro Lopez can strengthen their defence, writes Ramez Nathan.

“Even my 80-year-old mother knows Inter need a centre-back.” Luciano Spalletti’s plaintive cry at being asked yet again whether the Nerazzurri were a little short in defence made it obvious who the first January reinforcement would be. Step forward Lisandro Lopez, who arrives on loan with option to buy from Benfica.

Miranda gives up holiday

Inter defender Joao Miranda is reportedly foregoing his holiday to ensure he’s fit after the winter break.

The centre-back has been out since the 1-0 loss to Sassuolo on December 23 with a calf injury, having been substituted after eighty minutes of that defeat.

Andrea Ranocchia is now also injured, so Milan Skriniar is the Nerazzurri’s only fit central defender.

As a result, reports Gazzetta dello Sport, Miranda will give up his holiday, when he’d have returned to Brazil, to work to be back for the Roma game.

Miranda, D’Ambrosio miss Fiorentina

Joao Miranda and Danilo D’Ambrosio are still out of the Inter squad for tomorrow’s trip to face Fiorentina.

Miranda: ‘Lead by example’

Inter defender Miranda acknowledges “there’s a lot of excitement” about being top of Serie A, and says he leads by example rather than shouting.

“There’s a lot of excitement,” Miranda told FCInterNews as he attended the club’s Christmas Cheers event in Milan.
