Radu excluded by Lazio

Stefan Radu has been left out of the Lazio squad for pre-season training amid reports a row saw him excluded from the squad.

Coach Simone Inzaghi named the met who are travelling to Auronzo di Cadore for the traditional training camp.

Radu is notable by his absence, as there are growing reports the breakdown in communication would spell the end of a long and happy rapport.

The Romania international left-back came to Lazio in January 2008 and remained there for the rest of his career.

'Only indecent proposals for SMS'

Lazio have insisted that they will only consider selling Sergej Milinkovic-Savic if an ‘indecent proposal’ comes their way.

Milinkovic-Savic was speculated to be his way to Paris Saint-Germain in an €80m deal, but Lazio quickly denied the report.

Now, sporting director Igli Tare has followed up on his initial rebuttal.

Tare: 'No PSG offer for Milinkovic'

Lazio director of sport Igli Tare insists “we have no need to sell Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and received no offer from Paris Saint-Germain.”

There were growing reports over the last couple of days that PSG were ready to complete a swoop worth €80m for the Serbian midfielder.

However, Tare spoke to Le Parisien newspaper and poured cold water over those hopes.

Milan set to appoint director Massara

Milan are expected to sign former Roma director of sport Frederic ‘Ricky’ Massara as early as today, with Marco Giampaolo as Coach on Friday.

The Rossoneri have been in the unusual position of beginning the summer transfer window without a director of sport, as Leonardo resigned on the same day as Gennaro Gattuso’s exit by mutual consent.

They had targeted Lazio’s Igli Tare, but he opted to remain at the club where he has been for a decade.

Massara and Boban set for Milan jobs

Ex-Roma man Ricky Massara is the new favourite to become Milan director of sport, while Zvonimir Boban is working to free himself from FIFA.

Igli Tare had been the first choice for the role of sporting director in the new Milan, but he turned down the job in order to remain with Lazio.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, among others, the most likely candidate now is Frederic ‘Ricky’ Massara, who was just released from his contract at Roma.

Tare rejects Milan job offer

Igli Tare has reportedly told Milan he won’t accept the job of sporting director, despite not receiving a Lazio raise.

Paolo Maldini and CEO Ivan Gazidis had made clear their first choice for the role was Tare, who has been at the Olimpico for over a decade.

There were already suggestions in La Gazzetta dello Sport this morning that Tare had agreed to remain at Lazio with a new contract, increased to June 2023 and a doubled salary.

Tare won't take Milan job

Lazio President Claudio Lotito has reportedly blocked sporting director Igli Tare’s potential move to Milan, offering him an increased salary and a contract extension.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Biancocelesti patron has offered Tare an improved contract, running until 2023, while doubling his current salary.

The 45-year-old Albanian played for Le Aquile for three seasons before accepting a backroom role at the capital club in 2008.

Tare to decide on Milan offer

Lazio director of sport Igli Tare is expected to make his decision today whether to extend his contract or join Milan instead.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the former striker is giving serious thought to the proposal put forward by Ivan Gazidis and Paolo Maldini at San Siro.

Tare has been a director at Lazio for over a decade now, working side-by-side with President Claudio Lotito.

It’s reported Lotito is offering an improved contract to stay on at the Stadio Olimpico, similar to the deal that was given to Coach Simone Inzaghi this week.

Tare: Milan interest 'positive'

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare admits Milan’s interest is ‘positive’ and that ‘anything can happen’ but expects to stay in the capital.

Milan are keen on replacing Leonardo with Tare, as part of an overhaul behind the scenes, and he reacted cautiously to reports linking him with the Rossoneri.

“Milan’s interest is positive in a certain sense,” he told Puno ne top Channel.

“You also need to know how to handle it well but, above all, I’m at a big club and in a very familiar environment.

Milan: Giampaolo yes, Tare maybe

Marco Giampaolo has reportedly agreed a two-year contract with Milan, while Lazio director Igli Tare is sorely tempted to join him.

The new Rossoneri are taking shape with Ivan Gazidis and Paolo Maldini taking charge.

According to Sportitalia, Giampaolo has whittled down the details of a two-year contract with option for a third season.

He just needs to terminate his current deal with Sampdoria by mutual consent, which should be done on Monday, as a meeting with President Massimo Ferrero has already been booked.
