Sky Sport Italia reports Carlos Alcaraz could start as an attacking midfielder for Juventus tomorrow, in a key away game against Cagliari.

The Bianconeri are training at Continassa on Thursday afternoon before taking a flight for Sardinia, where they’ll face Claudio Ranieri’s Cagliari on Friday.

Sky Sport Italia correspondent from Turin, Giovanni Guardalà, reports that Alcaraz was tried as an attacking midfielder during a training session on Wednesday.

The Southampton loanee has recently returned to action after suffering a hamstring muscle injury that kept him out of action for nearly a month.

It is still unclear whether Alcaraz will start or if Allegri will stick to a three-man defence against Cagliari

The Italian tactician held a pre-match press conference before today’s training session, suggesting that Dusan Vlahovic will surely start in Cagliari and will be joined in attack by one between Kenan Yildiz and Federico Chiesa.

Alcaraz joined the Bianconeri on loan with an option to buy from Southampton last summer and has made six Serie A appearances with the Serie A giants.

Juventus collected just six points in the last five Serie A matches and currently sit third in the Serie A table, six points below second-placed Milan.
