De Leo: 'Further options would be useful'

Emilio De Leo has admitted it would be “useful to have more alternatives” at Bologna when he prepares for “an aggressive” match against Fiorentina.

The Rossoblu are currently 11th in Serie A and Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men are seven points behind sixth-placed Cagliari when they return from the winter break.

De Leo admitted they could do with some new players at the Renato Dall’Ara.

SPAL swoop for Pinamonti?

Mattia Destro’s arrival could signal the end of the road for Andrea Pinamonti at Genoa, with SPAL keen on taking the Inter loanee.

Genoa signed former Roma and Milan striker Destro from Bologna earlier today, and this could spark a domino effect in Serie A.

That is because Pinamonti could be about to leave the Rossoblu, just six months after moving on loan from Inter.

Genoa sign Destro, Tankovic 'frustrated'

Mattia Destro is officially a new Genoa player after arriving on loan from Bologna, but Muamer Tankovic is left “frustrated” by the change of plan.

Destro had his medical this week and the contract has now been deposited, a six-month loan until he becomes a free agent in June.

He is only the latest new player picked up by Genoa in the January transfer window after Valon Behrami for free and Mattia Perin on loan from Juventus.

Destro: 'Here to save Genoa'

Mattia Destro said he is “here to save Genoa” from relegation after arriving on loan from Bologna, reuniting with Mattia Perin.

The striker had already been on the Grifone’s books from 2010 to 2013, although he spent much of that on loan, making just 18 appearances for the club.

“I am absolutely ready to start again, I’m fired up and we all need a great second half to the season,” Destro told reporters as he arrived for his medical.

Official: Behrami joins Genoa

Genoa have officially signed Valon Behrami as a free agent and Mattia Perin on loan from Juventus, with Mattia Destro to follow from Bologna.

The Grifone are revolutionising their squad during the Winter break, having hired Davide Nicola as their third coach of the season, picking up the reins after Thiago Motta and Aurelio Andreazzoli.

This afternoon, Genoa formally deposited the contracts for goalkeeper Perin in a six-month loan from Juventus and midfielder Behrami.

Destro all set for Genoa

Bologna striker Mattia Destro is set for a return to Genoa and is expected to undergo a medical over the next 48 hours.

Sky Sport Italia claim it’ll be a six-month loan, because his contract with Bologna is due to expire at the end of this season anyway.

It is a comeback to Marassi for the 28-year-old, who was on Genoa’s books from 2010 to 2013.

He spent much of that on loan at Inter’s youth academy, Siena and Roma, ultimately making only 18 appearances for Genoa, in which he scored three goals.

Conte: 'I hate losing!'

Inter coach Antonio Conte reveals how defeats impact on him more than victories and accepts he is not “very diplomatic” when speaking to the Press.

Conte is known for his animated celebrations in the dugout, but he insists the euphoria is “very short”, compared to the sensation of losing, which lasts for “a day or two”.

“You can see the passion I have, even if I’m embarrassed by it afterwards,” he told Che Tempo Che Fa.

Zaniolo Roma's youngest Italy scorer

Nicolò Zaniolo has become Roma's youngest ever goal-scorer for Italy, beating Daniele De Rossi's record.

Zaniolo scored in the ninth minute in Palermo during this evening's final Euro 2020 qualifier against Armenia.

It means he has now become Roma's youngest ever goal scorer for Italy, overtaking icon Daniele De Rossi.

De Rossi was 21 years and 42 days old when he scored for Italy against Norway in a 2006 World Cup qualifier, coincidentally also in Palermo.

Destro out for a month

Bologna will be without centre-forward Mattia Destro for approximately a month after his latest knee injury.

The striker suffered another knock to the knee during the game against Roma and it was not healing as rapidly as first expected.

According to Il Resto del Carlino newspaper, tests showed there were no lesions to the ligaments, but it is still enough of a strain to keep him out for around four weeks.

The 28-year-old has made four Serie A appearances this season, plus one Coppa Italia game, but is yet to score a goal.
