Buffon: 'A book closes. Another begins'

Gianluigi Buffon wrote a touching farewell message to Juventus. “A journey ends. A book closes that we wrote together. Inevitably, a new journey will begin. A new book. It has to begin.”

The captain announced he will be leaving Juve after Saturday’s encounter with Hellas Verona, but at the age of 40 has not yet decided whether to retire.

“Sixthousandonehundredandeleven days,” he wrote on Instagram in a post titled 6111.

Clubs line up for Bastien

Nice, West Ham United and Everton are believed to be tracking Chievo midfielder Samuel Bastien, according to L’Equipe.

The French newspaper reports that the 21-year-old has attracted interest both from across the Alps and the English Channel.

A Belgium Under-21 international, he came to Italy from RSC Anderlecht to Avellino in 2015, then moved on to Chievo a year later.

So far this season, Bastien has contributed one goal in 19 Serie A appearances.

Galatasaray haggle over Nagatomo

Inter and Galatasaray have still not agreed terms over Yuto Nagatomo’s future, as there is €1.5m between demand and offer.

The full-back moved to Turkey on loan in January and has found a new lease of life in Istanbul.

That deal runs out in June, and both Galatasaray and Nagatomo have said they’d like to make that switch permanent.

However, according to FCInternews.it, the Nerazzurri want to get €3.5m to sell the Japan international.

Former Juventus players Patrice Evra and Arturo Vidal have sent messages of support to their old teammates after the Champions League exit.

Having lost the first leg 3-0 at home, their chances of going through to the semi-finals were slim, but it almost paid off as they were 3-0 up at the Bernabeu and 30 seconds away from extra time when Real Madrid were awarded a contentious penalty.

Ogbonna dreams of Italy recall

Angelo Ogbonna “would love to play for Italy again” after recovering from knee surgery, “but for now West Ham is more important.”

The former Torino and Juventus centre-back has been in London since the summer of 2015 and is rediscovering his form this season.

“Of course, I wish to come back to the national team,” he told the official West Ham website.

“I would love to play for Italy again, but for now West Ham is more important than anything else because we need a lot of points to get safe.

Return to Serie A for Hart?

Joe Hart could return to Serie A next season, as the former Torino goalkeeper is open to another move abroad after West Ham United.

The England shot-stopper was loaned out by Manchester City to Torino last term.

He preferred to remain in the Premier League this time around and has been dropped to the bench at West Ham.

It’s expected Hart will return to Manchester at the end of the season and, according to the Daily Mail, he is ready to go abroad again.

West Ham talks for Pelle'

Graziano Pellè is reportedly in negotiations for a return to England with West Ham United, but needs to take a pay-cut from Shandong Luneng.

The Italy international made the transfer to China after Euro 2016, having scored 30 goals over two seasons at Southampton in the Premier League.

According to the Mail newspaper, the 32-year-old is considering a return to Europe and specifically England.

The main sticking point would be the £13.5m per season wages that he currently commands at Shandong Luneng.

Official: Joao Mario joins West Ham

Joao Mario has officially completed his transfer from Inter to West Ham United on loan without an option to buy after passing a medical.

The Portugal international had his medical tests in London on Thursday and was given the all-clear to sign the contracts.

It’s reported the Hammers are paying €1.1m for the six-month loan and will cover Joao Mario’s wages during that period.

Joao Mario could make his debut in the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace next Tuesday.

Report: No option for Joao Mario

It’s reported Joao Mario will complete his move to West Ham United, but it’s a dry loan for six months without an option to buy from Inter.

The Portugal international is having his medical in London this afternoon, as confirmed by Hammers manager David Moyes.

Originally, the idea was to sign him on loan to the end of the season with an option to buy for circa €35m.

Masuaku agent denies Roma reports

West Ham United full-back Arthur Masuaku has not been in contact with Roma, said his agent, and any move “would be very difficult.”

There were reports today that the Giallorossi were looking at Masuaku along with Barcelona benchwarmer Aleix Vidal.

“So far no, there has been no offer, just a few requests for information. There’s nothing concrete at the moment,” agent Francesco Lingenti told LaRoma24.it.
