West Ham talks for Gabigol

Inter are said to be in negotiations with West Ham United to send striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa to the Premier League.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, the talks are speeding up for a January move.

Gabigol was a €29.5m purchase from Santos in the summer of 2016, but he failed to even start a single Serie A game, scoring one goal.

Loaned out to Benfica, that experience was also cut short after six months and he rediscovered his scoring boots and confidence back at Santos.

Zaza running out of chances

Simone Zaza joins Torino from Valencia after a series of flops and this time he simply must deliver, writes Nick Valerio.

For every Gianfranco Zola, there is a Bernardo Corradi and it was obvious to the vast majority of Calcio followers which Italian Simone Zaza would emulate once his move to West Ham United was confirmed in the summer of 2016.

Of course, there was great expectation from the East London natives who celebrated the arrival of a 25-year-old Scudetto winner and Italian international. Unfortunately for Zaza, his career has gone downhill ever since he took the brave decision to leave the Bianconeri in search of regular first team football.

He is not part of Luciano Spalletti’s plans and the Nerazzurri are eager to get him off their books.

Spain had seemed the more likely destination, with Sevilla and Real Betis both interested, while Rubin Kazan had also been mentioned.
