Simone Inzaghi backs Lazio’s forwards to cope with the absence of Ciro Immobile in the coming weeks.

The Italy forward, who has scored 26 goals in all competitions so far this season, had to be replaced in the 35th minute of this afternoon’s 5-1 win over Chievo at the Stadio Olimpico.

However, speaking post-match, the Biancocelesti boss insisted the muscular problem was nothing serious and backed the likes of Luis Nani to shine in Immobile's absence.

Pepito could've had it all

New Jersey-born Italian Giuseppe Rossi was destined for a stellar career before suffering numerous long-term injuries, writes Nick Valerio.

Signed by global giants Manchester United at the tender age of 17, Giuseppe Rossi had the world at his feet. His three-year spell in England may have been mostly spent in the reserves, but the chance to learn under Sir Alex Ferguson was a once in a lifetime opportunity that not many professionals are blessed with, and the Parma youth product’s footballing education could not have got off to a better start.

Luis Alberto flourishing at Lazio

Criminally underrated Lazio star Luis Alberto is finally becoming the talent he promised to be while at Liverpool, writes Jack Stevens.

With news emerging that the Biancocelesti are keen to tie him down to an extended deal, just how did Luis Alberto end up where he is? Overlooked and dismissed by Liverpool, polished and refined at Lazio, Luis Alberto is a prime example of the value that can still be obtained in today’s ludicrous transfer market.

Wk20: No surprises

We're into the second half of the season, so Lazio and Atalanta have earned the right not to be called surprises anymore, writes Susy Campanale.

There comes a time when teams and players stop being surprises and start getting treated as the real deal. Lazio and Atalanta, step on up, you’ve been promoted to the status of sides you expect to fight for a top four finish. Being a traditionally ‘big’ club is fairly irrelevant at this stage, because no matter how much certain Coaches might complain or strategically cover their ambitions, money does not buy success.
