Sarri: 'Napoli enthusiasm ruined'

Maurizio Sarri insisted Napoli’s performance with Dynamo Kiev was “not worthy of jeers,” but above all influenced by Benfica’s 3-3 draw at Besiktas.

The Partenopei are still top of Group B and will qualify for the Round of 16 as long as they avoid defeat in the final trip to Benfica.

Pavoletti has sprained knee

Genoa have announced that Leonardo Pavoletti has sprained his knee with “a first-grade injury to the internal collateral ligament”.

Milik targeting January return

Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik is targeting a January return to action after he suffered an ACL injury back in October.

The Poland international took to social media on Sunday to report that he had encountered his first training session with the ball, and included a video alongside the tweet.

"I continue to strive to return to the pitch,” the 22-year-old wrote on his Twitter account. “Today has been my first contact with the ball. Thanks to all who are supporting me in this difficult journey."

Genoa consider Luiz Adriano?

Genoa are reportedly considering Milan’s Luiz Adriano as a replacement if Leonardo Pavoletti joins Napoli.

Pavoletti has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Partenopei, and though the Grifone have declared that he’s not for sale, Il Secolo XIX says contingency plans are being drawn-up.

Luiz Adriano is out of favour at Milan, having played just 85 minutes in Serie A so far this season, with the Brazilian hooked at half-time against Sassuolo.

Napoli ramp up Pavoletti interest

Napoli and Genoa have reportedly already discussed a figure of €20m for striker Leonardo Pavoletti, reports say.

The Partenopei are looking for a forward to replace injured Arkadiusz Milik and the 27-year-old is their number one choice, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has already opened discussions with the Grifone, with debate over a deal set to continue throughout December, the same source states.

Pavoletti considers Napoli move

Leonardo Pavoletti is top of the Napoli wish-list and there are conflicting reports on whether Genoa will accept an €18m bid.

The Partenopei have essentially given up on turning Manolo Gabbiadini into a centre-forward who can replace injured Arkadiusz Milik.

Genoa striker Pavoletti is the top candidate to arrive in the January transfer window, although Simone Zaza’s unsettled status at West Ham United provides another intriguing option.

Napoli hunt for a hitman

Napoli find themselves in dire need of a striker in January, so Mina Rzouki looks through their options.

Despite spending a pretty penny on the Pole, Arkadiusz Milik arrived at Napoli to little fanfare. The Southern club had just lost prolific forward Gonzalo Higuain to despised rivals Juventus and seemed incapable of convincing Inter to surrender their Argentine, Mauro Icardi.

Hammers must pay €40m for Bacca

If West Ham United revive their interest in Carlos Bacca in January, Milan could raise the price-tag from €30m to €40m.

The Hammers had agreed a €30m transfer fee with the Rossoneri over the summer, then failed to work out personal terms with the striker.

Their difficult start to the campaign and struggle for Simone Zaza to settle could push them back on to the market for the Colombian hitman.

Napoli back in for Pavoletti?

Napoli will reportedly go back in for Genoa striker Leonardo Pavoletti when the transfer window reopens in January.

According to Calciomercato.com, Napoli had agreed a €25m deal with Genoa for Pavoletti in the final week of August but were knocked back by the player.

Nonetheless, the website claims President Aurelio De Laurentiis is a big fan of the 28-year-old, thus Partenopei will make another offer for the latter this winter, possibly involving Manolo Gabbiadini.

Serie A Team of Week 10

With both Juventus and Roma winning it is all the same at the top, with Napoli’s victory putting them third as Dave Taylor selects his best XI from Week 10.

Lukasz Skorupski [Empoli]

That Empoli didn’t concede more than just two goals was a lot to do with the Roma loanee’s ability. After foiling Jose Callejon and several strong efforts from Dries Mertens he showed even more of his talent when making a standout save from a fierce Jorginho strike. Superb.

Ezequiel Munoz [Genoa]
