Pavoletti: 'Dedicated to Genoa'

Leonardo Pavoletti dedicated his goal in the 3-0 win over Milan to “all of Genoa, as they were difficult days after the Derby defeat.

The striker came off the bench and put the icing on the cake of a crushing victory this evening.

“I want to compliment the doctors and physiotherapists. Hopefully I’ve had the last major injury. I dedicate this goal to all of Genoa, as they were difficult days after the derby defeat,” Pavoletti told Mediaset Premium.

Kalinic, Pavoletti or Zaza for Napoli?

Nikola Kalinic, Simone Zaza and Leonardo Pavoletti are options for Napoli in January, especially if Stevan Jovetic joins Fiorentina.

The Partenopei were stunned this week when Arkadiusz Milik completely ruptured his ACL on international duty for Poland, ruling him out for four to six months.

Coach Maurizio Sarri does not seem willing to sign a free agent, as there are few strong candidates available and they wouldn’t be able to play in the Champions League.

Preziosi: ‘Pavoletti not for sale’

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi warns Leonardo Pavoletti “will not move”, despite links to Napoli.

It had been reported that the Partenopei had an agreement to sign the striker from the Grifone in January, not least because Arkadiusz Milik will miss several months with a knee injury.

“Pavoletti will not move, not this season,” Preziosi told reporters outside a meeting of the Lega Serie A.

Napoli scramble to replace Milik

Dani Osvaldo is another alternative for Napoli to replace injured Arkadiusz Milik, but Maurizio Sarri seems intent on a tactical revolution.

Milik tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during last night’s World Cup qualifier between Poland and Denmark.

He will be in Rome this afternoon for further tests and likely surgery that will keep him out of action for four months.

Pavoletti out for a month

Genoa have confirmed that Leonardo Pavoletti will be out for little under a month with a thigh injury.

Pavoletti pulled up only 31 minutes into Genoa’s goalless draw with Napoli on Wednesday, and a statement on the Grifone’s official website reads how tests on the striker showed “a grade-one injury to the semi-membranous muscle in his right thigh”.

His condition will be monitored “in the next few days, with further tests”, although his recovery time is estimated “to be around 25 days”.

‘Simeone will be Pavoletti’s heir’

Ivan Juric believes Giovanni Simeone has what it takes to “continue Leonardo Pavoletti’s legacy and be Genoa’s centre forward for the future”.

Simeone is the son of Atletico Madrid boss and former Inter midfielder Diego, and Juric has high hopes for the young striker following his arrival from River Plate last month, while warning fellow new boy Lucas Ocampos “he must work”.

“He’s a talented lad, but he must work,” the Coach told GianlucaDiMarzio.com.

Pavoletti: ‘Rejected big money for Genoa’

Genoa striker Leonardo Pavoletti confirms he turned down “twice the money” to stay with the Grifone.

Napoli made two bids for the 27-year-old, while Lazio were also thought to be interested before their capture of Ciro Immobile.

“My choice was one of the heart,” Pavoletti explained to Premium Sport.

“From the first minute I was good at Genoa, I wanted to spend another year with this wonderful team. You have to feel good to go and to stay.

“This time my heart won.

Gabbiadini has Everton deal but...

Napoli’s official radio station confirms Manolo Gabbiadini has an Everton deal, but he can’t leave without a replacement.

It has been reported for some time that a deal is in place that would see the former Sampdoria man move to Merseyside for around €25m.

However, the Partenopei are not willing to sell until they find a replacement, with Genoa blocking them for Leonardo Pavoletti.

Bony frees Gabbiadini for Everton?

Napoli reportedly turn to Wilfried Bony of Manchester City, potentially freeing Manolo Gabbiadini for Everton.

Leonardo Pavoletti of Genoa was the main target, but the Grifone have slammed the door on any deal, rejecting bids of €15m and €21m.
